CF121 Redhawk: Canada's ( historically little known) acquisition of the Mig21

Little Known Historcal Fact that has been forgotten IN early 1960s Canada had aquired and breifly operated the Mig21, which reicieved the Designation of CF-121F. IT was due to the canceleation of the Cf-105 avro arrow, and Canada needed a new fighter-interceptor aircraft in service to fill this new void.

 

This was highly controversial becasue it strained US- Canada relations, thye had bought Russian made aircraft, and Americans feared Canada was becoming a Eastern puppet, which is likely one of the reasons why the MIgs were quickly removed from service.
