Razor18 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Hi Gents, what's the function of TISL recently? Laser code for LSS is set in the TGP CNTL page (using UFC for numbers). What is TISL used for, as it has it's own laser code setting manual rotary wheels in front of the stick? I got a bit confused about TISL usage...
John C Flett Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Unless it's changed in an update I don't think TISL was in use. It was a legacy system that has been replaced in the A10-C though the hardware remains.
Razor18 Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 The manual describes it's functionality through several pages however, but I just found the essence in Sentence #4 of that section of the manual: "This panel is not functionally implemented in this simulation." Thanks for helping.

Kang Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Provided that it is working correctly, I gather that it's important in buddy-lasing, as it helps you mark the drop point for LGBs if you don't have a TGP yourself.
al531246 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I wonder if the TISL system was functional in the military sim version of the A-10? Intel i5-8600k | EVGA RTX 3070 | Windows 10 | 32GB RAM @3600 MHz | 500 GB Samsung 850 SSD

QuiGon Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Provided that it is working correctly, I gather that it's important in buddy-lasing, as it helps you mark the drop point for LGBs if you don't have a TGP yourself. That's why it was added to the A-10 back in the day, but that was before TGPs were available. Nowadays it's useless, as there are TGPs that can do much more than just detecting laser spots. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
