Just updated to the latest and it is giving me this when I try to start a mission I was just playing before the update

7LosFNm.png

I have always just put my mods in the mods folder and never had a problem, but after this I put them in my saved games mod folder per this post here

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3209766&postcount=10

and I'm still getting the message, any ideas or is there a known fix for this?

Thanks

Fixed by deleting the mods from Eagle Dynamics/DCS World 2 Open Alpha/mods when you put them in Saved Games/DCS.openalpha/mods and restart your PC.

Update, I'm reading that everyone has lost the ability to use mods with the latest update'? Is this true?

If you're using JSGME, you can just create a folder in DCS, name it anything but Mods (I use _MODS) shove your mods in there and play. No need for Saved Games.

@Magic Zach that no longer works, you need to put mods in the saved games folder, you can point OvGME to the saved games folder not sure if JsGME can do this haven't used it in a long time.

@Ghostrider142 I think you'll need to edit the mission and replace the BUSH with a new BUSH so it picks up the new mod location, make sure the mod is placed in (drive):/user/(username)/saved games/dcs(alphabetawhatever)/mods/tech folder

I've only been away from DCS for a week. Unless something has changed within the past 7 days, then...

Ok, I see in some of your recent post that you're in 1.5 so modding may still work as he old way, I would have thought that both 1.5 & 2.1 are on the same page with the IC stuff but maybe not. (haven't got 1.5 installed to check).

in 2.1 the saved games route is required for any mod that uses an entry.lua, .dll, Skins or script.lua database edits (example using the F-15.dll in a mod bin folder to make a mod aircraft have that pit and flyable)

Patch Always Move Mods to /Backup.xx/ Folders.

However Mods need to now be in /Saved Games/DCS.<install>/Mods/.

Any Mods in the DCS Game folder w/o Manifest File will not be loaded at DCS Startup.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

But that does not work for all mods! 3d objects works fine- but sound mods are broken at this point... That is- they need to be installed tradidionally (In game folder) and as JSGME can only point to one destination-not all mods will work

Sound Mods do not apply to OP's Problem.

Yeah- but from the posts and replies above, it seems like all is good if you switch the setup. I suspect at lot of people are using sounds mods and that it therefore is worth mentioning in a modding discussion of the current build.

Thanks for the responses.

So yeah I already had them in my saved games folder, in the Saved Games/DCS.openalpha/mods pathway, but not as this user mentioned here https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3215163&postcount=10 in the Saved Games/DCS/mods, also I forgot to delete them from the primary mods folder that I had been using.

So I am about to delete those and try again with them remaining in Saved Games/DCS.openalpha/mods, if that doesn't work I will put them in Saved Games/DCS/mods. And yes I do have them in their correct aircraft and tech folders. Brb.

It works now, I will update the op to make sure to say to delete the mods from Eagle Dynamics/DCS World 2 Open Alpha/mods when you move them to the saved games. Thanks guys.
