Joni Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 When in rockets attack mode, the CCIP piper stays closed until it starts opening showing range when you are close to the ground. The thing is that when its closed, the impact point is nothing but wrong. Only when it starts opening the impact point is accurate. How is this actually IRL? Am I doing something wrong? jojo Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) You're not in range until the circle start opening. Max range at nine o'clock. Min range at three o'clock. Same thing for AG gun. Don't shoot before being in range. Edited August 13, 2017 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! cthulhu68 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Hope you don't mind me hijacking thread but I have a question with rockets. I can't figure out how to get the pipper to show up (circle with dot). All I ever see is a big X. I've combed through manual and even did the training a few times but even in the training mission when I'm told to turn on rockets and I'll see the pipper its not there. I've asked about this before and was told you have to be within certain parameters for it to appear but I've tried every dive angle and speed combination. As far as what needs to be turned on I go to A/G Mode and then select Rockets on PCA. At that point they fire but is there something else I need to turn on or change or what?:helpsmilie:
pimp Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Shiftie Mover has a good video on using the rockets in the Mirage: i9 14900k @5.6GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z790 A-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 990 Pro 2TB | 64GB DDR5 6400MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | PiMAX CRYSTAL LIGHT | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals

Joni Posted August 14, 2017 Author Posted August 14, 2017 Also I think you need to be at more than 350 ias Intel Core i5-8600k + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Gigabyte GTX 1070 Aorus 8G | 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengance LPX Black 3200MHz | Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 3 | WD Black SN750 NVMe 500GB | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Green 240GB | WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA 3 | WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 | EVGA 650 GQ 80+ Gold | Samsung CF391 Curved 32" | Corsair 400C | Steelseries Arctis 5 --- Razer Kraken X Lite | Logitech G305 | Redragon Dyaus 2 K509 | Xbox 360 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Thrustmaster TWCS | TrackIR 5
lemoen Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 More than 350 and less than 520 knots IAS. Also, ensure TAS and RS is on and make sure your radar altimeter is active (switch below the HUD). The rockets land exactly where they are supposed to. 1
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 (edited) You dont need TAS and RS at the same time. Edited August 14, 2017 by Esac_mirmidon " You must think in russian.." myHelljumper Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 You need one or the other and you can have both so you can continue your run in case of radar failure. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA

The rockets land exactly where they are supposed to. The radar altimeter being off was the problem or more to the point me not knowing the radar altimeter was off was the problem. It does seem to only show when both TAS and RS are selected or just RS. Thanks for the help everyone. This was driving me crazy for a while.
