Would it also be possible with this package to create a series of missions based on the same mission template (including the same units) but with already prepared routes, briefings and kneeboard pages created in each .miz file seperately and just track the damage/kills of units when proceeding from one mission to the next ?

I don't know if i got this correct, but DAWS creates a new .miz file , right ?

I was just thinking about "saving a damage file" at the end of prepared mission1 and the load it into prepared mission2 when starting the mission.

Hi, I've tried to follow all the instructions but as many others I don't have the F10 menu item. Does anyone have a clue on what to do to make this work?

Posted

Hi and thanks for responding! So, I see the New menu in the UI, I have a mission with DSMC-, but still I don't get the option to save in the radio menu. I 'm using OB 2.5.6, could that be the problem?

Hi, I'm using JSGME and it's tageted to the saved games folder. The special menu works as advertised, just not the in game Radio menu save item. How can I check that the files are in the correct location? The manual dosn't state where to manually place the files or folder.

It would be great to have this working, have been waiting for this function for years...:smilewink:

No link yet. I'm still working on it with some people helping me as testers.

We're on a good way, but I need to fix some milestones before release.

Even current testing version has flaws, and I'm not going to release something bugged. The version that has JFCshloss as a tester is bugged, with things that I've already corrected.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Sorry for the noob question! Does this mod allow saving game in the middle of some single player long campaign mission? I.e. Could I play a mission for 20 minutes, save and then start from that saved position the following day- in a single player campaign?

Would be awesome if yes.

Negative, that kind of feature would require support from ED. DSMC (that is the name of the new mod version) will allow to save the scenery conditions at the end of the mission. It's going to be useless for single player campaign, unless someone will create a campaign based on DSMC system.

Any update with this one? DAWS was a friendly user way to keep a persistent campaing and I would love to have an updated version of it.

Thanks!!

Currently a lot of updates, none that I'm going to share at the moment: Mod in its "stage 1" is feature complete an tecnically ready for release, I'm only writing the manual and do bug-fixing when something comes out. But I won't release till a long and complete testing phase is going to be complete and the mod is confirmed working without visible performance decrease on heavy missions.

Current plan is to use DSMC in an intensive multiplayer mission campaign hosted by one of the most valuable tester, that will take about 1 mission/week for as many mission as necessary. So this process should take from 3 to 6 months.

Thanks for the update Chromium. I will wait eagerly.

In my squadron we do plan to start our "persistent" campaing by September (By persistent I mean that without DAWS I have to manually edit each scenario to give some kind of persistence feeling) so when thus capability becomes available it will be most welcomed. Our campaing is planed to last 5 to 6 months so hopefully this will be readyat some point.

Thanks for the update.

Chromium,

This sounds really great. Can I assume, if using saved units and saved statics (i.e. Pikey's scripts) along with DSMC a mission persistence can be created? This would be on a MP dedicated server for a private group (if it makes a difference).

Thank you and look forward to it.

Hi,

sorry for the late answer, but I hope you could find something about it here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-topics/mods-and-apps/dcs-mods/7121707-dsmc-the-new-daws
