ayousry Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Hi all I just updated my win10, gtx1080, and dcs to the latest releases I expected to see more stability and smoothness But it is totally the opposite, now i get very irritating micro stutters while in VR It was not there before all of these updates Anyone with same problem or its only me?! NeilWillis Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 How much have you played with your settings to try and establish the best possible combination? It takes time to pin things down, and frame rates are a very elusive but essential component of DCS World. I'd advise you search through all the previous posts regarding this issue. I get a good solid 45 FPS from a similar rig, but with a 980 Ti. There are occasional stutters in multiplayer sessions, but that is not necessarily down to my rig. If I can do it, so can you.

ayousry Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 I was running smooth and very good fps overall before these updates for almost 2 years , i tried to chamge settings in nvidia control panel and DCS , no luck. I dont know from where to start digging for this problem now
Mr_sukebe Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Try disabling the game bar to see if that works. That's available via windows Settings, then Gaming 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

firefox121 Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I also experimeted that micro sutterings, after a lot of tryings, I removed my oculus form my head, to clean the lens, and whwen I put them in my head, the microsutters disapeared... so Every time I go to fly , in the pause screen I must to remove the oculus, going the visor to black, and when I put them on all goes fine. It is not a solution, byut works meanwhile. It happens in WIN 10 of course Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick
mangotango Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 (edited) I can also confirm huge issues with stutter, missing frames and this makes DCS absolutely unplayable. I have W10 Fall update installed and the graphic driver 388.13 I use the HTC Vive and I usually bring up the Vive frame rates bar - at the moment it shows constantly missed frames. My DCS is set to VR with no pixel density increased although I use Vive to increase my pixel density outside of DCS to 2.0 - this should not effect DCS as it is running on the outside. I use this method for other games as well like IL-2 and it is butter smooth. Although sometimes the symptoms does not show up in the beginning of a flight session, but respawning or pausing the game causes the symptoms to start again and DCS gets unplayable. It is strange how this is behaving - a restart wont get it away. It is like DCS or something has a memory leak or issue with DCS. Im not alone with this issues. Another VSA member is having almost the same symptom although he is running Oculus. (Edited) Edited November 5, 2017 by mangotango
firefox121 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) See my post avobe, It may help to remove your VR glasses so The head sensor goes off then put on again and the problem is solved at least for me Edited November 5, 2017 by firefox121 Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick

FPS counter still shows high but it becomes unplayable.. Only in 2.1, it appears after a while. Sometimes after a short while (minutes) and sometimes after a long session. Seems like it has something to do with the level of detail. So in demanding enviroment it starts quick and it an empty nevada it takes a while and sometimes doesnt even start.. But one thing is sure, it makes 2.1 unplayable in VR for me. Tried with different nvidia drivers 387.95, 388 and 388.13 nothing helped.. Battis Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Regrettably same here. I installed latest updates yesterday for dcs stable, alfa and rift. I got terrible microstutters when in multiplayer server. SP works fine but... cockpit text readability is now zero in both MP and SP. I litterally have to put my nose to the gauge to read it. Also FPS dropped to 20-40 from 45-90. Rollback of nvidia driver to 388.00 solved the fps issue but stutters persist. The rift ASW works overtime, all the time now. Additionally, same problems with Vive. I`ve played around with the settings but to no avail. Now MP in VR is unusable. My rig: i7700 OC:d to 4.8, 1080ti, 32 gigs and 512gb m.2 for dcs. i9-9900K 4,9Ghz, 2080ti, 32Gb, 1Gb m.2, Index, WinWing throttle, Baur BRD-N, Crosswind pedals, Orbwiever and tm mfd`s, all in a Hornet simpit.
firefox121 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Read my poost above, Also It seems to be some issue with the new windows 10 creator update, Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick
EDT Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Does anyone have any news regarding what to do? Still unplayable in 2.1.. Is there a fix in the works? :/ Asus Maximus Hero VIII - 6700K @4.7GHz cooled by a Fractal Design Kelvin S36 - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8GB - 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz RAM - Samsung 850 Pro 240GB SSD - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD - WD RED 3 TB HDD - TM Warthog HOTAS - VPC T-50 stick and base - Baur BRD-F1 rudder pedals - Oculus rift CV1
Mr_sukebe Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 I disabled the "game mode", which gave me performance basically on par with pre-update. Try that if you haven't already. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

I'm sorry to say that it does not work for me. Microstutter is there and my frame rates on 2.1 is jumping from 15-42 FPS... And this is all the time. Being on the same position I can have 15 FPS and the next second 42 and then back in-between or all over... Never a stable count...
