Texac Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 In my view it is a big waste of resources and fragmenting the community as well as putting away new customers. This has to be developer's nightmare and I cannot understand that ED has remained in this state for two years and unification is nowhere near it seems. Just roll out 2.5 even in unfinished Caucassus state, patch it up in frequent incremental automatic updates, afterwards drop support for 1.5xxx and life will be much better for everyone - developers, module producers, community and potential customers. We don't know how many resources are wasted but they are spending most of them into the Caucasus map update and it was mentioned by ED that they would made it available for us and everyone ASAP. Even in an unfinished state I believe which DCS itself as a whole will never reach because it is evolving and growing up except the modules maybe. But the possible and unfinished but ready state Line is still simply not reached yet. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
castor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I bought the av8b module but I do not have a Nevada map. If the harrier to my version is to be released in 2018 is it possible to refund my money? Esac_mirmidon Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Again. The Harrier is going to be available for all versions. Even if you dont have Nevada or Normandy you can fly it in 1.5.7 right at the moment the update is out. The only "maybe" is what version will be updated first on 29th, 2.1.1 or 1.5.7 to be compatible with the Harrier. I´m sure if one is updated on 29th the other will be in the next week. Not in 2018. As Zeus says, AV-8B could be flown in all available DCS versions... BUT he was talking about his "early access" due to Delareon question: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3282079&postcount=71 Maybe we could fly only AV-8B at 2.X until 2018, and then at 1.5.X too, both versions while early access....
Esac_mirmidon Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 With all my respect, this doesnt make sense, all versions means all versions. With every update the Harrier should be available, first on 29th for the version selected by ED, and in the next update for the other. Even "maybe" we should expect a dual update like the last one for D-Box the same day. " You must think in russian.." Raven68 Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 What does 1.5.8 bring besides the Harrier? To me it's all about 2.5 and the merge. Be it in the form of early access, public test or whatever they choose to call it, will it be this year or more can kicking in 2018? SkateZilla Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 You guys are all jumping through hoops to explain to each other release dates that havent been confirmed. Harrier will be released on November 29th Whether it's 1.5.7 or 1.5.8 does not matter. Just remember w/ each module release, the version branch usually goes up a subversion. ie 1.5.0, 1.5.1, 1.5.2 etc Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
