Game Flight Mode

What s it like in multiplayer mode. Doesn t the one who uses game mode have an advantage?!

 

No, because the server admin sets the settings. If you open multiplayer and look at the server settings you see game mode disabled on almost all servers. Doesn't matter what you set for your singleplayer game, the server makes the settings for the multiplayer environment. Same with unlimited fuel, ammo, labels, etc. ;)

You could say that of all the polls ever created on this forum... And it's not because it doesn't represent the whole world perfectly that it has no value. A poll is better than no poll.

If you have come to DCS World, you have probably come looking for clickable cockpits and realistic systems. But just because that is what I want doesn't mean that is what everyone else wants. If game mode allows some people who would otherwise hate DCS World to enjoy it, why should it be deleted? But if absolutely no one uses it, why should the game be cluttered with support for it? I have never used it and don't care about it at all. Eagle Dynamics is free to do what they believe is in their best interest. If game mode costs them little or nothing but gains them a few paying customers, why not keep it? As long as the options I like remain and are not degraded by other options, no skin off of my back, nothing to complain about.

I don't think this modes are for people who want to learn the sim, but for people interested in playing Arcade.

 

My guess is that with the release of MAC, we are gonna see a change on this, this optiones were made for MAC I guess.

 

I think almost nobody is using this options, because the people who could enjoy it are too scared of DCS, and that's what they want to fix with MAC.

 

For me, as long as you can disallow that on servers, is ok.

Game Avionics Mode was removed in the last update. Seems like a good decision.

I’m not sure why a player would want game flight mode without game avionics. Maybe that’s getting removed next.

I tend to use game flight mode as a DCS rookie, and also because getting the hang of each plane individually is not really my thing. I like to try different planes every time, and some times get bored with a specific difficult one with too many items to get right just to get lift off. BTW Avionics mode, where is that in 2.8 ?

Game flight mode will teach you wrong things, disable some functions and some aircraft, such as the Apache, simply won't work with it. It's a relic, and it's not worth supporting anymore.

Got permanently removed in January 27 OB patch. 

At some point they were considering removing Flight Mode as well, 'cause to be honest, they don't develop it and support fully in all modules. It's still there for the time being, but be prepared to encounter unfixable problems with it.
