Hi guys - couple of notes

 

- If you have a snag after update first confirm you have been auto-updated to latest build 2.5.9.10

if not get it from the website and do a manual replacement of VAICOMPRO.dll

Look here in case of potential conflicts with other apps

 

- The SRS mapping feature aligns the radio slot (TX) assignments so that they are the same in VAICOM PRO as in SRS.

This way you can more easily set up a universal PTT config that works for both tools in parallel.

 

- AIRIO and the menu wheel are mutually exclusive for technical reasons.

The AIRIO extension provides dynamic on-screen feedback using the hint functions and

kneeboards are available to familiarize with the keywords while learning to use.

- Hot Mic functionality is only available with AIRIO for the F-14 ICS.

However if desired if you apply some creative modding of your VA profile you may be able to get more open mic functionality in there :joystick:

 

- The plugin is tested to work with both SP and MP.

With MP there's always the possibility of a specific (e.g. scripted) server not working.

At the very least the MP server must have the Player Export setting enabled.

 

- In case of unexpected audio behaviour make sure to inspect the plugin Audio Redirect setting first.

Sonic Studio and some similar apps are known to mess things up with audio routing in some situations.

If you have no issues then fine, but else try uninstall via Windows app manager.

You mean that you can see the radio subtitles but can't hear the actual voice of your wingman/ATC etc?

 

If you can only not hear the Player, make sure that the option "Disable player voice" is not ticket in the VAICOM PRO utility.

 

Lastly, are you using Easy comms? I have Easy comms set to OFF and VAICOM is working fine for the most part.

I get a weird issue with the Huey. When I press the TX node the listening isn't resumed. I doubled checked that the correct TX node is pressed, yet the VA log shows "listening suspended" both after press and release.

 

 

EDIT: Now I can't hear the ATC replies either, nor are there any subtitles appearing either for my or for their messages. The menu advances to the next ATC mode though, so the game logic actually works...

I'm able to tell Jester to switch his Radio to DF, but no idea how to tell viacom to select a specific VOR frequency.

Ok, getting the hang of things and got rid of Sonic Studio screwing things up.

 

I really like the chatter but have a hard time hearing it in my headphones over the background DCS noises. I have the chatter noise on the PTT confit page all the way up as well as the volume on the audio coms page. Still having a hard time hearing over DCS.

I set all in game sliders to 50% and have hearing in helmet checked.

 

I tried lowering the DCS helmet and in cockpit sliders but still can’t hear them well over DCS. Am I changing the wrong sliders?

 

Any guidance appreciated.

Extended functionality for AIRIO planned?

 

Hi Hollywood,

 

Firstly congratulations on a great extension. When properly installed and set up, it works flawlessly and is really great for immersion.

 

I was wondering whether the basic functions available today are planned (or possible) to be expanded in future to cover the full scope of what is offered by the wheel.

 

One topic I am really missing now is the ability to instruct Jester to use F10-Map marked Waypoints for INS setup on the fly or during cold start. This is particularly important in multiplayer missions (e.g. DDCS or GAW) where the waypoints are not pre-defined in the mission and change dynamically. As an alternative, simple Long-Lat input instructions for Jester using voice could also be workable.

 

Some feedback on your ideas and plans would be welcome :)

Wait, what - do I understand that correctly, that there won't ever be an option to use both the Jester Menu Wheel through it's hotkey *and* AI RIO?

Situation, contact ahead identified by jester but NOT LOCKED...

 

- Command: "Track single contact ahead"

- Answer ARIO: N/A radar is in lock state

 

Same situation without ARIO enabled

 

- Select Track single contact ahead with wheel.

- Contact locked.

 

It does not happen in all missions, but it has already happened in two.

 

Tested several times with this mission, always the same result.

Same here.

 

I tune to the correct channel/freq and try to contact Tanker/AWACS/Carrier/Airfield/Flight/Wingman and... nothing happens. The command is recognized, but I don't hear my "Player Voice" repeat the command on the radio, and I get no response from the intended party.

 

But it seems to only occur in MultiPlayer. In SinglePlayer, all seems to be well.

 

 

I stand corrected. It is NOT working in SP. Tested in Hornet, Tomcat and Warthog.

The problem was definitely on the Viacom side, as VA worked but nothing attached to Viacom was working...

 

 

After a lot of troubleshooting, and several uninstall/reinstalls later, it turns out that after uninstall, the folders with "Voice Attack" in their names in the following locations needed to be deleted before re-install:

I did a complete re-install and it still doesn't work. I give the voice command and it is recognized but DCS does nothing. What is interesting is that if I use normal keyboard commands everything is fine, but as soon as I try Viacom I loose that to, no more voice from DCS. DCS won't even change my load-out, even though I can tell it to through the comm window it won't respond after giving a voice command through Via. I had it working previously. Not sure what changed. I don't have Rio installed.

I have not used this product yet but love the idea of it, I have bought all of it and I am setting it up at the moment.

 

I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm doing the training on the keyword edit tab and when I click on the test button voice attack comes up with a report that 289 aliases are missing, am I missing something vitally important here ? should I be concerned? or is this normal?

 

as far as I can tell I have the latest copy of Vaicom Pro, ARIO and chatter.

I just reinstalled everything and it still shows this.

 

Any guidance is much appreciated.

I am having problems with the F-14 being detected by Vaicom. All other aircraft get detected fine and work but when I fire up an F-14 mission it just sits there with the ---- dashes.

 

I tried removing the exports, auto import new modules, downloaded the latest version of vaicom 2.5.9.10. Got it to detect once, but now it's back to not working at all. Airio license is bought and activated.

Tried reinstalling everything, cleaning files, no change either, no radio sounds whatsoever (audio extensions are disabled) save for the ground crew, some aircraft (Huey) don't let me transmit at all (stuck in listening suspended, the "TX press" commands trigger listening suspended for some reason), the keywords database went weird (every single time open the database tab the "Finish" button is highlighted, but when I press it and try to paste the new database into VA command, no change is actually made - the string I paste in is apparently identical to what was already there, no way to click apply. Have we reached a character limit here or something?). As of 2.5.9.10 the plugin is completely broken and non-functional, since I've just bought the AIRIO extension I feel scammed.

To be clear the plugin was extensively tested to work with both SP and MP and with and without AIRIO extension.

This is in conjunction with SSA, TacView, and SRS all latest versions.

 

If you are experiencing broad issues they will be specific to your system setup and you need to methodically follow the basics as per the install notes in the manual, the FAQ page on the website and the various notes in this thread.

Uninstalling/re-installing/uninstalling etc. is generally counter-productive. In an attempt to recap the main checkpoints:

 

The basics

- You must run Windows 10 and if on Win7 make sure to have .NET 4.5.2 properly installed

- Your Windows UAC account and antivirus/firewall must allow unrestricted files and folders access,

- VA must be 1.7.5 stable and VA must be running as admin,

- VAICOM PRO plugin version must be 2.5.9.10,

- AIRIO must be 2.5.1,

- If you have the Garmin disable it,

- Your TX configuration (VA profile) must be correct for use with your PTT devices,

- If you have have AIRIO you must apply the FINSIH steps to import the keywords, taking note of the well-known attention points such as command consolidation and the VA blank field bug,

- For the F-14 set the Radio Menu setting (DCS option Special tab) to Default.

 

To troubleshoot

- Run a DCS repair,

- Refer to the 2 mins install fix (first post),

- For not having (comms) audio inspect the Audio Redirect setting and/or your audio driver,

- Use the Custom DCS path to point to your DCS World folder,

- If you run third party apps, test with disabling them (e.g. disable entries in export.lua),

- DCS.log can provide further clues.

Exactly. I hear player's voice, but never my wingman or ATC. Only once VA/VAICOM is off their voices are back.

UPDATE: did master zero reset and everything is back to normal again

Same thing happened to me. But what if you only see one .DLL? (message below)

Also, I have VoiceAttack on my E: drive, and not the standard C:/Program Files (86) folder. Does this matter?

Don't know what it was that broke. My guess is a corrupted file somewhere in those 3 folders.

 

 

Had to do a clean install of VA and Viacom. So, before you go this route, export your profile so you can get your added commands back.
