Just stumbled across this online and figured I'd share it here. You can see throttle, airspeed, nozzles, and altitude cleanly. I'd also draw attention to how spot on Razbam's module is ;)

Anyway, a good training aide.

This actually shows what the HUD is supposed to look like in V/STOL mode, as opposed to other modes.

You'll notice that the airspeed, altitude, and heading tape are all lower in the HUD (you can see portions of the pitch ladder above the heading tape in this mode), and the airspeed and altitude indicators compress together slightly compared with NAV, A2G, and A2A.

This also shows the appropriate distance between the waterline (the horizontal centerline between the heading numbers and tickmarks in V/STOL mode) and the Witch's Hat.

What's the ring that appears on the end of the runway when the pilot is on approach? It almost looks similar to the indication of a Maverick in boresight mode, but it's clearly ground-stabilized.

Can anybody confirm what procedure he's using? The 35 and 70-degree nozzle settings aren't mentioned anywhere in the USMC Syllabus, NFM-500, -000, NFM-400, or the Shipboard manual. Closest I can guess is STOL Flaps VNSL from the USMC Syllabus.

Pretty impressive video.

The ring is the HUD representation of a INS waypoint, here the airport with distance middle right of the mfd.

Procedure is a Vertical rolling Landing with variable nozzle , speed was around 60 kt at touch.

Nozzle around 70 on final

Thank you for this, can't get enough of the HUD video to show us what it should look like. Love studying these.

Very cool. Is that currently implemented in the sim? the only waypoint indication I've ever seen in the hud is the line on the heading tape.

The INS system is still WIP. There's no alignment or coordinate input functionality so I'd expect we'll see this in future updates.
