Davee Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi Guys, Does anyone know if a TM Cougar throttle can be converted to a USB connection and directly connected to the computer? I have a left-over throttle in good working order and cannot connect it due to the old 8 pin? connector and I don't have the original cougar stick base that the throttle connected to nor an old game peripheral card. (Who remembers those?) :) Any advice much appreciated. Cheers,

Sokol1_br Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) TUSBA is the more easy way. Can make a external adapter with ~$6 Arduino PRO Micro+MMJoy2 firmware, a plastic box and DB-15 connector. Or more practical fit the Arduino inside TQS box, are plenty space there. Can use a BU0836A, DSD12, instead Arduino, the connections is the same, TQS use an 4x3 diode matrix: Edited January 19, 2018 by Sokol1_br
Davee Posted January 20, 2018 Author Posted January 20, 2018 Thanks Guys, Looking at the options made me recall a box of Cougar Joystick parts I had. I found the main board and voila, linked the throttle to it and connected to the computer. Hardest part was getting the correct driver which I eventually did and all works great. Thanks again for the feedback, Cats . . . .
Los Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 I too have been using the TUSBA and it works great.
Sokol1_br Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Thanks Guys, ...Cougar Joystick parts I had. I found the main board and voila... That's a easy adapter. :) If put this board inside a box, and hook two multi-turn pot (3/5:1) in connections for stick axis, wold be useful for trim.

Kind of a waste of two TARGET capable (and flash programmable through CCP) 12 bit axes though, but I suppose if they're not even getting used in the first place...
