wormeaten Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I will like to know what this Virtual Reality support really means in this module? Is this means that we will be able to use our hands with Leapmotion to interact inside the cockpit?

What you're describing would be a DCS World feature, not F/A-18C. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
mhe Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 VR support is not an aircract-specific thing. Leap motion is not supported as of yet and there is no mouse emulator good enought for it yet to make it a feasible solution for VR. I have a Leap strapped to the front of my Rift and have not gotten any good use out of it as of yet, even with the newer Orion drivers Leap is simply not precise enough yet for that application. | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.
John Hargreaves Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 I think one of the most significant features will be world scale/camera IPD movement. Should mean you can set the cockpit size correctly regardless of how wide your head is. i7-7700K/Gigabyte RTX2080/Win10 64bit/32Gb RAM/Asus Xonar DX+Sennheiser HD380pro headphones/LG 34" UM65 @2560x1080/TM Warthog+VKB MkIV Rudder pedals/Rift CV1

Should mean you can set the cockpit size correctly regardless of how wide your head is. Let's hope that is indeed what the result will be. The only FC3-module that displays the cockpit correctly scaled is the Su-33, and the A-10C has the exact same problem. ED Team Wags Posted January 28, 2018 ED Team Posted January 28, 2018 There are no specific Hornet VR features. IPD selection will be part of 2.5, not specific to the Hornet. ZnarF Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I wich we'll soon see some small tracked device to wear at the fingertip of indexes, with haptic feedback... (furthermore, Vive stations seems to be open to such new devices)

Wags, tell me please how far we are in DCS to use hands to interact with cockpit using Leapmotion or some other hand tracking device or glove?
Oesau Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 One day these will be available (not talking about this specifc type, rather the haptic glove) https://uploadvr.com/ces-2018-contact-ci-maestro-haptic-glove-vr/
