Triggerhappy69 Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Thank you, thank you, Yes i made that panel myself (took some time, one could imagine:) ) In this stage the gauges are not working, but they will be illuminated from the back (the gauges are a digital print) in a (very) later state we will be making the gauges to work. The panel isn't finished yet, but when i have some progress, i start my own thread ( i don't want to hijack Triggerhappy's one) @ Triggerhappy, i would like to have the drawings of the K36, please. Again love that seat!! They are on the way in the mail mate.. c",) "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Triggerhappy69 Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 K-36D in Specnaz Su-27 Cockpit Just tinkered with the consept og placing the seat in Specnas excellent Su-27 Cockpit, just for fun.. And it came out pretty darned nice to..! Specnaz has the drawings for it.. So go PM him at the check Six forum.. Aeroscout Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Wow, that looks pretty cool. Could you set the seat a little farther back in the pit? looks like the rear of the side consols would be hard to reach. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
Force_Feedback Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Wow, that is some nice seat, the headrest is almost spot-on! Are you planning on adding the stabilization boom containers? Those are angled 15 degrees out in the horizontal plane. But damn that seat looks hot, will you be making the cushions too? Don't forget adding the parachute harness (car seatbelts come to mind), maybe even the hip restraints, and offcourse the ejection handle. Now you have to make it weigh 105 kg, and you'll have a realistic K-36D(M) Series 2 seat, though I get the impression you're going for the more modern variant. I didn't explode, just had been partying a lot lately. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Triggerhappy69 Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 Oh Yeah..! Wow, that is some nice seat, the headrest is almost spot-on! Now that makes my eyes water up mate.. I must have been fideling with the headrest for MONTHS... Just getting my hands on as many pics as possible and 3D Cad'ing it to make it seem like the real thing.. And at the same time trying to keep the weight and ease of building..! Are you planning on adding the stabilization boom containers? Those are angled 15 degrees out in the horizontal plane. That is a load and clear I WILL.. It really doesn't look quite the thing without these unique features on it. The telescope boom containers, the padded things under the kneas and the air connectors on the left side will be added. As will most of the cryptic warning stickers here and there.. But damn that seat looks hot, will you be making the cushions too? Don't forget adding the parachute harness (car seatbelts come to mind), maybe even the hip restraints, and offcourse the ejection handle. The cushions will be made from some fake leather of some sort. They will be sown with the same double pin-stripe pattern. But I need to make the rear cushion maybe 10cm thick along the spine (I think). Just to get my hands in a comfortable distance from the joystick. As far as seatbelts go, I probably will make them (have the pictures to make them from), but that will have to wayt till after the pit is up and running. Now you have to make it weigh 105 kg, and you'll have a realistic K-36D(M) Series 2 seat, though I get the impression you're going for the more modern variant. LMAO.. There is more than one make if this seat..? I really didn't know..! My initial plan was to make the seat as fast as I could, and not really give it a lot of attention to being 100% scale.. I just wanted something to sit in that looked the part.. When I start on the rest of the Cockpit I'll be more attentative to details I guess..:pilotfly: BTW.. Something like this you mean..? Joe Kurr Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Your cockpit looks strikingly similar to what we're working on :) I'm in the same project as Wasserfall, doing the electronics and software to get the panels working. The goal is to have mechanical analog gauges, instead of a display behind the panels, and working buttons and switches. We plan to do a small presentation at the Lowland Tiger Meet, if all goes well we can show a prototype of our new Flanker stick as well. This stick is designed as a replacement for the grip on the Suncom F-15E Talon, but other sticks might follow when we figure out how they work. There are also plans to do a sliding double throttle like in the Su-27, but only after the stick is done. Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
leafer Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 :shocking: Me wants a set of Flanker stick and throttle. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

But so far I have to say that it blew my mind away.. Really Impressive work on all levels..! And the joystick..? Is there some way I can get my hands arround one of them? I have started the drawings for a Su-25 stick handle that will replace my cougars F-16.. But If your allready making it....:music_whistling: I've dug up some wiring scematics for the Cougar if you want them.. Adding the right under here.. After seeing how my flying improved just by extending the cougar 18cm and placing it in front of me, and not on the side. I will need to make some sort of arrangement anyway.. But the next thing on my list is the Throttle.. To sum it up mate.. DAMN FINE WORK..! "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Joe Kurr Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Thanks for the schematics, they might come in handy when we try to make a Cougar-compatible version. At this moment we only have a Suncom set to test with, so this is our first priority. When this works, other sets might follow if we can work out how the grip connects to the base. I'll create a new topic about our cockpit, to keep this one clean. Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
Force_Feedback Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 OMG, there was an ejection scene in Battlestar Galactica, looked fine, except for the simultaneous seat ejection, but I guess that was in 'space mode' (in which I'm right now ;)), so no danger of tangling chutes. Just had to say this, opening a new thread seemed uncalled for. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Triggerhappy69 Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 My Pit. Using Wolfairs drwaing for the Su-27 pit a a template I came up with this idea that will be my Su-25 pit.. Triggerhappy69 Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 K-36 Update Drawings nearing ready.. And building to..! Just a small update.. Triggerhappy69 Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 And the first Panel is coming along.. I had a really hard time trying to figure out how to solve the fact that the rotary switch moves by itself in Lockon. It happens when you switch from GunPods in depression angle mode, to Nav mode.. The only way I found was to have LEDs telling me where the Rotary switch indicator is active, and program SIOC to emulate it (or I will figure out this in the near future..) The 1mm Alu backplate that serves as the foundation for the LEDs. First the Alu plate (now painted). Then the 5mm plate that channels the light from LEDs to only light up the relevant writing on the Panel. Then the Print in regular paper. Then a 2mm plexi plate to keep everything in place and looking good. Got the Rotary encoders mounted and all the LEDs soldered in place. The 5mm plexi plate for the indicator LEDs showing how I hope it will work.. :music_whistling: "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" Geier Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 It'll be cheaper just to by the real one, won't it? Nice work:thumbup:
Force_Feedback Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 It'll be cheaper just to by the real one, won't it? Nice work:thumbup: ~70000 us $, maybe 40k if you buy a used one. New seats cost between 50 and 150 thousand dollars. I can send an email to Zvezda asking them how much their latest and greatest costs :P Nice build man, do you still need some drawings of that thing? Things like the umbilical connectors, lap belt tightener. I have 'technical' drawings of the K-36DM series 2, with all the measurements (3 side view). Just shout if you need some :P Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
