SierraFox Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I've recently been flying the Harrier, it's now my favourite module and have been trying to create a night mission since, you know, it's the night attack variant. but have been trying to find if it's even possible to have moonlight at night. everything that I've tested so far has just been pitch black. I run night missions with gamma at 2.2 but doesn't really help much and if i put it higher it just looks terrible. Is it possible in 2.5 currently? i know there are issues with the lights from building and stars being barely visible at the moment, so i'm assuming this would fall into the same category? Yes, full moon nights are brighter than new moon nights after moonrise as an example. The trick is knowing when moon rise and moon set are for the date in question as well as the moon's phase. You might try this calendar: Moon Phases/Rise-Set Calendar to get you in the ball park. The ME date selector doesn't coincide exactly but this might get you close. If you click on the Month/Year for the calendar (at the center of the calendar's header), it opens a rise-set calendar. If nothing else, once you figure out the date for a moon phase, its opposite (full moon-new moon, for example) is about 14 days later. Spetz Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1590249&postcount=21 Try this..
Pikey Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Also, with defered shading, it's currently so dark your torch is dim, lights are dim. If you want lighter nights try switching over to HDR until they get that sorted! ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

RastaPutin Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 1800 17 JAN 2011 when it gets dark a full moon will appear . make it winter so you have snow on the ground ... you'll have acceptable night vision.
Wrecking Crew Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 I use the calendar that Spez posted, the 2011 year. Up north in the Caucasus it is 0900 at sunrise in the winter. The calendar is good for full moon night missions. Here is my old link, same I think - https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1590249&postcount=21 Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.
