skinners Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 If there are enough sim fans out there to sponsor a development of game through subscription fees. Something like vendetta-online only without a fancy plot and multi-player. Shotsx74 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 If you got the Area51 membership, the new dev diary is a great read. Indeed it is, they have come along way. Some good guys over there that are making alot of things possible that kind of just isn't happening here. Even though the game is not done, going by the screen shots and what they plan on doing, it is going to surpass any Combat Flight Sim.
Prophet Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Well they are starting from scratch, so kinda have a bit more flexability. I am sure EDs next project will be much stronger than LOMAC is.
OldFrankHog Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Not to be mean but its taking long enough just to implement 1 chopper, imagine a whole new game.... P.S. Dont b1tch at me im just saying maybe they should start making a VIP kinda club that get more info and news to get funds to hire more ppl to create faster to give us the damn chopper that im gonna fly once or twice.:pilotfly: Join us today!!!
Prophet Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Yes but 1 chopper into an older code. The next project is probably going to be re-worked a bit to make it easier. Its been talked about before the short comings and limitations of this code base, so I am sure they will be working hard to improve that aspect. And IMO, a lot of people said the same thing about the 25T, "oh I will never fly that thing", and then they actually do, and find they like it a lot. I think the KA-50 will be like that. There will be some that wont want to fly it at all, but I think a lot that are apprehensive, once they do, they will like it.

Besides what good is a piece, and I mean any piece of software that constantly crashes and locks up? Star Craft was postponed several times, and by the time it came out most thought it'd be too old and uninteresting. They were wrong. Quality over quantity, is a concept that everyone should follow. Kuky Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I second that... no point having 100 sims if none of them are of high standard. No longer active in DCS...
OldFrankHog Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Im not gonna argue everyone is entitled to their opinion but tell me, whats the point of wasting 2 years on 1 chopper instead of fixing the rest of the bugs? Yes 1 good sim is better then 10 bad ones...the thing is, is it good yet ? Join us today!!!
Prophet Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Depends on what is considered a bug and what is just not modelled fully. I know of very few actual bugs on LOMAC.
Kuky Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 the only thing that LockOn is missing is ability to run on multy CPU. If it could, this thing would really rock as then you could use a 4 core CPU and run this baby on really nice graphics settings (visibility distance). The only "bugs" are shades on some weapon models, and fog. No longer active in DCS...
OldFrankHog Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Yes I was including modeling in "bugs" but its all good im not saying I dont like the game I love it but I think losing 2 years on a chopper instead of fixing the rest or making a new game is a waste. Again thats my opinion and i like the game so dont pick on me :P Join us today!!!
GGTharos Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 What do you mean 'losing 2 years on a chopper'? They've put in new cockpit and aircraft system technology, as well as other things that were developped not only to serve the chopper but future developments as well. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
OldFrankHog Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Yes I realise that what bugs me is that it took 2 years to do that. And all we will have is a chopper... I know it sets the base for more but were not getting more at the moment are we ? I would more then gladly sign up to some sort of VIP club for 20$ or whatever and get some news as how the project is going, and that would get some more funds to hire ppl to make things go faster... Make a chopper if you like, hell make a god damn space shuttle jsut dont "waste" 2 years on it leaving the rest "bugged"... Im out of this thread as all Ive done so far is piss ppl off it seems... Join us today!!!
Kuky Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Hey, I don't think you've pissed anyone off (not me at least) and I agree with you also... waiting a very long time is not really good because the excitement fades away and you feel you're waiting for something forever. But on the other hand, I am sure ED wants this to be done trully well (which I really hope they will suceed in) and having that highly detailed avionics, flight model and I think they've improved some graphics stuff as well... this should be a very nice add on. Even with Su-25T we've got a very nice ground attack platform... it can very enjoyable to fly it online with wingman... with high end PC setup, HOTAS and TrackIR and now adding 6DoF in Ka-50... this will have to become the favourite ride for most of us. It'll be more challenging... more time required to learn all the systems... but in the end most of us want this kind of detail and realism... I am sure all this waiting will be rewarded well :D No longer active in DCS...
Prophet Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 A clickable 3D cockpit, AFM, and system modelling that goes beyond any other sim out there. 2 years is fast.

That helicopter is next generation, its a sign of how detailed ED is prepared to go to model an aircraft. Also it would probably make creating more helicopters and aircraft to that detail in future much easier. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

Yes 1 good sim is better then 10 bad ones...the thing is, is it good yet ? 2 years for a chopper that will handle as close to the real thing as is possible. I don't know why people aren't as stoked as I am.
pappavis Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 judging by the number of people choosing to fly asu-25(T) online makes me wonder how many people really want a ka-50? As for myself since the release of the Su-25T i very seldom fly a Su-27/F-15. I am too much having fun with the complexities of AFM. Really, invest some quality time into the Su-25T, it should keep you busy long enough untill black shark is (eventually) released. met vriendelijke groet, Михель "умный, спортсмен, комсомолетс" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] [TABLE]SPECS: i9-9900K 32gigs RAM, Geforce 2070RTX, Creative XFi Fata1ity, TIR5, Valve Index & HP Reverb, HOTAS Warthog, Logitech G933 Headset, 10Tb storage.[/TABLE]

Esac_mirmidon Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 What kind of online? If the answer is HL, of course people don´t fly the Su25T because it´s mainly air to air engagements. If more servers built missions with CAS, Ground Attack, support etc, more people could choose the T. In many squads de SU25 is the Crown´s jewel because the AFM and the gorund attack, like mine.
