ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 19, 2018 ED Team Posted March 19, 2018 Thanks zionid I appreciate the help, I have been unable to reproduce on my system, but have found other problems with the fog while trying to :) Can I ask you to attach your options.lua I will use it on my system thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted March 20, 2018 Author Posted March 20, 2018 No problem. Here it is. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8qjydvd410yoath/options.lua?dl=0 In the same picture, you can also see an underlying "square grid", that was a problem before as well.
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted March 20, 2018 Author Posted March 20, 2018 The problem persists with HIGH shadow settings. Just to be clear- this only happens with fog. It is fine without it.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 20, 2018 ED Team Posted March 20, 2018 Thanks, just woke up and was taking a look. I was still unable to reproduce, but dont worry to much the other problem I have found maybe related. I would suggest renaming your options.lua keep it as a backup and allow DCS to generate a new one, just to rule out any strangeness associated with settings and retest, let me know if you see a difference. Flappie Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Hi, a friend of mine hosted an MP session yesterday. He was the only one to have this pixelated fog issue, among 12 players. We were flying over the Caucasus on the 3 of october of 2008, between 6 PM and 7.30PM. Of course, fog was on. We were playing the current stable version. ---
Flappie Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Same problem tonight for my friend, but he managed to get rid of the pixelated sea/fog by changing ingame MSAA from x8 to x2. ---
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 Hmm.. I am always running MSAA x2 and the pixel problem is still there..
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) please delete. double post. Edited July 27, 2018 by zionid
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Still having huge problems with pixels using fog. It is not map related. My system is gtx 1080, 16 gb ram, i5. I enjoy overall solid performance. Here are some examples and my settings The problem exists with both 2 and 4x msaa. Turning msaa off completely seems to get rid of it, but produces a rather severe artefacting (Note the "shadow" as well as the cut screen at the top. Any help would be greatly appreciated. REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 I have turned off all AA related settings in my Nvidia control panel. I have tried numerous aspect rations and resolutions. I have tried all manner of shadow settings. Still the same problem.
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) Edit: I might appear that the problem was the ingame MSAA conflicting with the Nvidia MFAA setting. Turning the latter off have appearantly sorted the issue. Edited July 28, 2018 by zionid
Alphazulu Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 zionid, Thank a bunch for figuring that out. I was having this issue as well for a long time and just ignored it but it was driving me crazy and this finally fixed it. Thanks,
