too embarrassed to show my setup after seeing these crazy things. maybe when I'm in my 20's and earning money......

I am 28 and my wife tells I have to use money on furniture, outdoor furniture, things to the house etc...she grins everytime I buy something new for my computer. Last time I had to convince her why Track IR 4 is very important! Think that was easy...next time I just buy it, and donґt say a word. hehehe :helpsmilie::pilotfly::joystick:

I told my missus TrackIR was an anti-Burglar device to stop any unwanted guests stealing our valuable info from the PC and it also keeps an eye on what the kids are surfing.

and she bought that?!

Well I'm not married yet so I'm kind of still free to buy what I really like. At the same time I do watch not to buy things I wont use, HOTAS, trackIR and all my "flight gear" is what I use almost every day so this is a good investment for me... PC parts are the still only thing that need "regular' upgrading :D and geees they can get very expensive too :noexpression:

That's an AWESOME computer!

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Thanks people! My cpu cooler brand is Zalman 9700NT and I overclocked my C2D E6600 2.4Ghz to 3.6Ghz with 400mhz FSB speed. Its a cooling monster. :D Btw I can use our LCD TV only when my wife let me use it so usually I'm flying with my own monitor. :pilotfly:

usually Cpu temperature is 45-50C at room temperature. I give 1,48V overclock to cpu at 3,6Ghz.

hm... if that 45°-50°C is at idle that's a bit too high. I have E6600 overclocked to 3.15GHz on vCore 1.325V FSB350 and my idle temperature (using CoreTemp) is 39°-41°C Idle and goes to about 47°-48°C running LockOn and it actually goes to medium 50's on 100% load (usig Orthos).

Yes you're right Kuky. We're in summer now and room temperature is like 28-32C around. Meanwhile I give 1,48V to cpu to get 400FSB.

When I first bought the E6600 (MB/CPU/GPU/RAM upgrade) I overclocked it to 3GHz and it ran 24/7 like that for 6-7 months. Then I started having some issues which in at first I thought was PSU or CPU o/c issue but after replacing PSU (from 620W to 850W) and lots of other troubleshooting I came to conclusion it was most likely touschschreen I connected at the same time or at least I know it was something related to touchbuddy/touchscreen.

Anyway I run CPU o/c 24/7 and it's stable alright... I had it running stable (running Orthos) at 3.3GHz but I didn't like the temperature (CPU temperature went to 60°C) so I reverted back to 3GHz as this gave me nice low temperature and much lower vCore required.

Then I wanted to try going in 100MHz steps higher in o/c and run at 3.1GHz for a week or two... after that I find the system was still stable I went for 3.15GHz sometimes last week and it's looking good so far. I might try 3.2Ghz again but probablt won't as performance gained is not worth temperatures start climbing higher and higher. I'd say if you wanna go higher you better get water cooling, but then again they can be lot of trouble to maintain (at least for me)

I ran RF3 which was just about 3h and it was all good so I find that stable. My idle is maybe 1°C higher compared to 3GHz but that's still alright. Mind you though I keep my case open on the side as I've found this decreases my CPU temperature about 5°C and even GPU temperature (X1950XTX) from "normal" 58°C to some 47°C but then again I made a simple "mod" for the X1950XTX and attached 8mm fan underneath... that fan helps a lot to keep the card cooler but since it just bloows on the card the hot air stays in the case if I keep the case closed... so I keep it open and that keeps the case always at room temperature without much need for many fans.

I have to say I do get issues with LockOn locking up sometimes but I don't think that's o/c related as many people have this... you get that lockon.exe error and such but it's not very often either.
