ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted October 26, 2007 Author ED Team Posted October 26, 2007 How do you speed up grabbed fraps footage recorded at half speed in Vegas? And how do you sync the video with sound? When you import the video in vegas, all scenes is at half speed. How to speed up just the video and not sound? It is less fps demanding to fraps in half speed? Never thought of that! Well, i never record the sounds from in-game (they dont meet the requirements i want for a movie). They are of low quality and don't fit in a movie at all (IMO). But if you record WITH sound, at half speed in lockon, you will run into a small problem in vegas when you speed the clip up; the sound will be out of synch with the footage. So if you plan on recording with sound, don't slow the game down. Record at normal speed. If you still want to use in-game sounds for your movie, simply import all the sounds from the "Sounds" folder in lockon, and edit them into your movie. This way you dont have to worry about the sound beeing out of synch, although now you have to figure out how to make all the audio match the footage. But to speed up a clip, it's quite simple: Right click on the clip you have placed on the timeline, and scroll down to "properties". A new window will pop up, and near the bottom you will see this line: "Playback rate: 1.000". Change this to "2.000" to speed the clip back up to normal speed. The highest number you can use here is 4.000. If you want to go even faster than this, you need to use the "track velocity" option (works pretty much the same way if you wanted to do "stereo" editing, with sounds moving from left to right, or vice versa). Hope this helps you out. 1 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
FA_Crazy-Canuck Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 GA, how do I take a track and copy the whole thing to an AVI or DiVX file? Specifically, I would like to record some tracks to DiVX without editing etc, just copy them. Thanks for the help. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted October 26, 2007 Author ED Team Posted October 26, 2007 If you're talking about making the entire track into a movie file, using the in-game tools, i can't help you. I have never used it :) 1 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
SuperKungFu Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 FA Crazy-Canuck, I personally haven't used the in-game tools either but i recommend FRAPS. There's a lot of a track that is basically useless since you are not going to use it, so use fraps that could record what you want and when you want it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Peyoteros Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 well. I say track is usefull. as you can roll it over and over again, in "edit track" mode and find different POV (Point Of View), different angles etc, once you happy with your track, you use "fraps" to capture video, the beauty of the track is that you can watch the same action from the point of attacking plane, from the point of the target, from the point of the missile or bomb, or any other point (free cam). So having the track gives you universal point of view on the events you've recorded. You can go in to "edit track" as many times as you want and change your (POV) on the already captured events, you can't change of what happened, but you can change the place, (POV) from which you wanna show it to others. So, you record track, then you look at it as many times as needed, every time you open it as "edit track", and you watch it, if you like how the track editing came out, you happy with the way it looks, you save it, and then you get your Fraps out and record it. The rest is done in editing soft like "Adobe Premiere", or "Sony Vegas" etc. Lets roll some movies ppl :D "Eagle Dynamics" - simulating human madness since 1991 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ۞ ۞

Peyoteros Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Dose anyone had problem whit Fraps not recording in game sound? Was thinking to make a movie off a squad match, but can go on whit shooting whit out the sound :( Do you use USB headset?, and instead of recorded in game sound you hear yourself breathing in to the microphone like the "Horse"? :D if so, you need to plug your output directly in your sound card and restart PC. Well thats how it works with me, I have to disconnect USB adapter and plug headset directly in the sound card slot, green for headphones and red for the mic... but then my TS settings gets messed up, thou all game sounds gets recorded :D Hope been of help or maybe gave you some clues... Ironhand Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 didn't work any other ides anyone ? I have been using Fraps before on my previous computer without any problems don't really understand why its not working now. have tried everything I possible can imagine. You wouldn't happen to have one of the Roxio Media Creator Suites installed, would you? I find that it's Easy Audio Capture utility influences how other audio recording apps behave. For instance, if I have it set to mic rather than "what you hear", some other apps I have will only record from the mic as well. It shouldn't do that but it does. Perhaps something similar is at play in your case. Also, I assume you have tried both "Detect best sound input" and "Use Windows input"...with the "Record Sound" box is checkmarked. Teknetinium Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I maneged to solve the problem, I tried different game recording program and that one strange enough was recording sound. So I reinstalled Fraps again just to see if that program changed some settings which could make Fraps record sound again, and it did. Jippy!!! thx for the help Ironhand and Peyoteros.. 51st PVO Discord SATAC YouTube

SuperKungFu Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 no, simply go to your server.lua file in Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View and change CameraTerrainRestriction = true to false [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

PythonOne Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 to GA: Just a 2 question since I'm experimenting with videos for my friends How do you do that camera angle between 0:15-0.30 seconds of your A-10 promo? The one where you are low to the ground and circling the plane. I know you turn off the terrainrestriction but I don't know how to get that smooth motion, did you mount it on a car or something? Also, what type of fonts did you use as text such as the word "presents" it looks really cool! (probably not going to use it for films though, just other projects).
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted July 4, 2008 Author ED Team Posted July 4, 2008 The camera was attached to one of the other A-10's taxiing. So i just hit F2 view, and zoomed out to another A-10 and just followed it with the mouse. And that font, i think it's called "BankGothic" or something. 1 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
mc_smile Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Glowing_Amraam How do you manage to "attach" the camera to a missile and follow it when it is launched? If you do it by mouse the how do you get so smooth motion of it? Mouse sensivity?.. ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted November 17, 2008 Author ED Team Posted November 17, 2008 Hmm, i dont think i've ever panned and followed a missile beeing fired.. But you can slow time down and follow it, which makes it easy and very "natural" looking...or, if i remember correctly, "F6" is missile view, so just select it and hit "CTRL-F3". Correct me if im wrong anyone.. Cheers :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page

Rikus Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I record the track, then while i see i use fraps, and then with windows movie maker, join all clips. My problem is that the final video, doesn´t go smooth as other videos i see. Greetings
sniffer Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Anybody know some software which could replace FRAPS? Don't know why my Fraps doesn't work... Read somewhere that each version of Fraps is designed for some version of driver. Tried few version of Fraps and always the same :( Problem is that software don't start recording (Hotkeys not working). The best way would be to use another software or maybe somebody know the solution of this problem... Tried ZD Soft Screen Recorder and GameCam (don't remember exactly) and this is not what I want... thaFunkster Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Thanks for the post. I have a couple of questions: One, is it possible to record a track of your flight, and then screen capture from different angles later on? How do you do this? Second, how do you place objects (ie- the player for starters) in the damn mission editor, this thing seems very user unfriendly.... Thanks. Funk on YouTube!
Demokrator Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Hey GA In what resolution you capturing your vids? And second one, what "properties" settings, resolution, ect. do you use in Vegas? I'm asking because i capturing from the game in 1280-1024, in Vegas 720p 1280-720 as a result I get terrible "black box" kinda looking on youtube.
power5 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Almost looks like an effect you somehow check marked. The transitions go to full screen then back to the black box after. slamraamproductions Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Maybe this works: Change the aspect ratio with the pan/crop tool of each footage to 16:9. Now you also get rid off the fraps.com. <==DCS Flaming Cliffs 3: Operation Grand Slam <==Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 Tribute
