Spathiphyllum Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Hello, I am wondering if canopy rain effects will be added to the Gazelle? Cheers!
Dr Zaius Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 This feature has to be in the post, its too good an effect! System Specs: Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz @ 4.8GHz, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master, 32 GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3600 RAM, GeForce GTX 4090, Crucial SSD (2TB), TrackIR 5, TM Throttle, VPC WarBRD Stick, TM T-Flight Rudder Pedals, Samsung 49” Odyssey G9
Slant Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 I swear I've seen rain effect on the Gazelle already. But it was going all sideways and in some places even upwards. :P http://www.csg-2.net/ | i7 7700k - NVIDIA 1080 - 32GB RAM | BKR!
dimitriov Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 The problem may not come from the glass. it may come from the whipers.
Spathiphyllum Posted July 11, 2018 Author Posted July 11, 2018 I am really hoping this effect will be added.
Dave317 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Any news on this? Really looking forward to it working.
Spathiphyllum Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Same. But it's weird they don't even bother to respond.
BaD CrC Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 You'd rather try on Polychop Simulations Discord server where dev are more actively answering and the environment is a bit less hostile than on ED forum. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

borchi_2b Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Yes we have been in holidays. I will talk with Pat about it next week on our sceduled meeting http://www.polychop-sims.com
Dave317 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I'm so glad the Gazelle is getting updated now. Please don't forget about this feature.
Polychop Simulations Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 We haven't forgotten about this feature. It is something that requires us to update the 3d files. The way the rain drops work, and this may sound a little technical, is that a normal map is projected over the glass parts. Now the Gazelle was never developed with this feature in mind as development was way before the introduction of the rain drop feature. We will have to apply new and uniform UV maps to all the glass parts of the cockpit in order to make this work. The UV maps are however connected to the damage model (ie bullet holes and such). It's quite some work but we will look in to this while working on the PBR overhaul. Leaving the UV maps as they are right now while applying the rain drop feature will cause very big drops on the front windshield, and tiny little drops on the sides. Really looking forward to being able to use the wiper blades for rain. I still turn them on just for RP purposes when it's drizzly.
Dave317 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Any chance of this feature in the upcoming 2.7? You posted a video on Facebook some time ago but there's been nothing since.
