Capn kamikaze Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Even if forcing an update via the console, it just launches into DCS, I've replaced the updater .exe aswell incase it got corrupted, still not working.

DragonFlySlayer Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Updater?... How do we do that? I don't understand what you mean. Mine just stays stuck on Updater so I turn off my anti-virus and then it will launch into DCS world 2.5 or OpenBeta. One problem I noticed too , is I cannot create any snow on the ground in either world via weather button in Mission Editor. After reading my DCS pdf I tried it again with negative results. I also noticed that the pictured examples in the pdf are different than mine once I am into DCS world. I tried also searching the forum for this topic regarding snow with negative results. ....My updater seems to get hung up on my anti-virus. So I disable it and then it seems to work. But I also wonder if it is searching for an update. I believe it is. If ya know anything at all about that snow in the mission editor that would help. It just keeps popping back to default weather and all I can get is this crappy blue colored rain or storm that looks so unrealistic.  Thanks...
Capn kamikaze Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 Mine just decided to work, no apparent reason.

Andrew8604 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Did you try the Start —> Eagle Dynamics —> Update DCS World? I wish this answer had been easier to find. I think it should be in a basic DCS World FAQ somewhere. Now I have the problem of not enough disk space for the update to be downloaded. Eagle Dynamics folder is taking up 214 GB of my 250GB SSD. In there I have DCS World 15, DCS World 2 OpenAlpha and DCS World OpenBeta. Can I uninstall DCS World 15, which I never use anymore? When I run its Uninstall, it says "Are you sure you want to completely remove DCS World and all of its components?" No, I'm not sure! I just want to remove 1.5. But I can't be sure of what YOU are going to do, Uninstaller Utility! Can anyone advise if the 1.5 uninstaller will ONLY uninstall files in 1.5 that are not needed for openBeta? Same with the DCS World 2 OpenAlpha...will it ONLY uninstall 2 Alpha and not affect OpenBeta? (I'm running it on Win 7, if that matters). Thanks.
Art-J Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 If you run unistaller off the 1.5 folder and it says "remove DCS World" not DCS.OpenBeta or Open Alpha than I can't see how it could affect the other folders, as it doesnt even know they're there. Is this the only drive you've got in your computer? You could always backup the OB folder, though I don't think it's necessary. When you're done, don't forget to manually remove relevant folders from Saved Games location (leaving only the one for your 2.5OB), so that they don't cause your confusion in the future. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
