Hi

When doing the first run up, the F-18C/D tends to have some vapor coming from the bleed air. This has not been modelled. Would be nice to get this too.

There are two circular vent holes on the left side of the spine. You aren't always going to see this. It depends on several factors to include humidity. As quoted,

"Engine bleed air leaving the turbine compressor travels through a condenser/reheater then into a water extractor, this water is sprayed from a jet ejector in front of the secondary heat exchanger in the LH diverter channel. What you are seeing is simply water vapour."

It isn't coming from the actual bleed air vents that are on both sides of the aircraft that look like long slits which is better described as a fuselage boundary layer diverter channel which slows the amount of air reaching the engine.

Now that I've speculated, I'm going to ask a friend that flies the legacy and super.

Not being mean here, just want to know why people keep wishing for things that will effect game performance for items that they shouldn’t even be looking at. Especially during a runup. Shouldn’t you be focused on what’s happening in the cockpit?

My guy that flies the Charlies and Supers says he's not seen it on either and that he thinks its from earlier models, so I have no idea. That's what I have to go on. Either way, it seems that if he's never noticed it, it's probably not that important and like mentioned above, not worth the resources to model it.

You can see them everytime on swiss hornets. Ive witnessed them from less than 20m during their run ups, for years.

I have launched hundreds of charlie and supers and have never seen this. no matter what the weather is like. then again i don't watch them to much after they leave the flight line....

I have noticed this in many airshow videos on a number of different airframes (Eurofighter comes to mind). I think these effects would be a nice little addition.

+1.

I really don't care about raindrops on the canopy, or various noxious emissions coming out of my aircraft, the RAT not being deployed...COWS for crying out loud.

Fix the AI & AI pathfinding, dynamic campaign, frag damage, accurate AI flight and damage modeling...

Yup, I've seen this on several occasions as well, you could be right that it's not present at all the different versions of the Hornet though. But if it is seen on the Lot 20 I think it would be a nice little detail to add.

I have never seen this on a US Navy Hornet,

But I also dont live in Switzerland either, so Climate May play a role.

USN Hornets do this quite a bit, but not in dry climates (like Lemoore, or China Lake). In Oceana as well as The Boat it's a common sight. Normally doesn't happen until the throttles come up around 75%-80% which is why you generally don't see it in the line, as we try to keep RPM below 75% until we are on the runway out of concern of blowing someone / something over with exhaust.

I Spend more time at Oceana than I do on the forums, have never seen it here at all.
