Aeroscout Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 After several nasty PMs, i thought it would be a good time to apologize for everything i've done to this forum. I'm sorry, and I think (for your benifit) you'll be hearing alot less from me now... S77th-konkussion Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Well I haven't sent you any PM's- but all I can say is relax- post count is not the "be all end all" I remember you saying something to the effect of post count = credibility and there may be some small truth to that, but I think helping out and making useful posts is just as highly regarded by most here. ED Team Wags Posted April 27, 2007 ED Team Posted April 27, 2007 Don't worry about post count for a second. It's the quality of a post that matters in my eyes, not the quantity. Anyone can spam a forum with posts. Writing quality posts that are objective, insightful, well-written, provide unique information on a subject and are written with maturity is a big factor for me when selecting beta testers for instance. Brit_Radar_Dude Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Mmmm, can't recall you saying anything too bad and your warning level is at zero, so I wouldn't worry. As Konny and Wags pointed out, the key to a good Forum is, folks helping each other out with answers to questions, folks coming up with useful Mods and Tweaks, folks banding together to support each other and deal with problem people. I'm still relatively new (3 years) to the whole InterWeb thing. I think it is wierd but terrific - a total cross section of age, country, occupation but all passionate about a Flight Sim. I live in the UK and help moderate a Message Forum about a Flight Sim designed and written by Russians, on a Community website run by a guy in Brazil and I ask someone in Vietnam to resize their Signature. If I had said that 20 years ago, they would've locked me away ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
mcnab Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 After several nasty PMs, Don't pay attention to those PM's. They're being sent by the demons from the other side. If you put some salt, make a circle and light a candle in the middle and stand naked over the candle and sing: Now I lay me down to sleep, The Master of Dreams my soul will keep. In the reflection by my side, Evil will see itself, and it shall die they will be gone for good and you'll see those PM's miraculously dissapeared.
GGTharos Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 ... Or you can just use the delete button. It's a little more convenient and a little less silly ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Frostie Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Some guys need to realise that 14year olds can be abrasive without knowing. Aeroscout my young padwan just be mindful with posts as many view this as an adult community and could take exception to young-uns flooding the forums. Aeroscout Posted April 27, 2007 Author Posted April 27, 2007 Ok, thanks guys, i makes me feel a bit better. But i do believe that I did over do it with the posts. (there is a such thing with being too helpful) And it's not the 1000th post thing either, i just wanted to help and be a part of the community. I know now, and i'll do better. christopher m Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 14 years old I wish I could be fourteen again Not that I am a crusty old fart or anything like that. In my heart I am fourteen at least a couple times per day. Then my wife gets annoyed and I have to ramp back up to about 40 something. Don't sweat your age It's the possibilities for your life you gotta sweat about. Regards, [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christopher M
Talon_300th Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Without barging in and decorating my opinion all over the forum, I think anyone with over 1K posts, who isn't completely detested and despised by the community, has probably been doing a good job so far. ;) I noticed Brit Radar Dude on the Ubi forums and his post count caught my eye. Then I came over here and saw him again. He seems to have a well respected position within the community, so I watch out for his posts, because he looks like someone I can trust. To me, that's maturity. Same goes for a few other posters. They just make the community a better place! VMFA-Blaze Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 OK...checked. I haven't found any PMs in which I attacked anyone for posting too much. I have responded to a few PMs from people who felt smited by my asking them to stop following others around and attacking their every word on this forum. What can I say, I get bored and post here like so many regulars on this forum. Its all in how we spend our free time on this forum I guess. We can try to get along with people who have pissed us off in the past, or we can hold a grudge. ;) I'm totally with you on that one Iggy.. This forum I feel has allways been a cut above the others in many respects.. I've allways appreciated the maturity and the vast amount of concentrated knowledge that exists here ... And I for one, hope that it will always be like this .. And as long as we don't allow something this good to change .. It will always remain good ... semper fi Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Poopskadoop Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I haven't noticed anything wrong with your posts, aeroscout. You always carry a friendly attitude and do genuinely try to help. You should probably just ignore any PMs you're getting about the issue.
Cosmonaut Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 First of all post count doesn't mean anything other than how much free time you have or how fast you can type ;) .. I joined these forums as soon as they opened and I post quite regularly and I still don't have anything near a 1000 posts. I personally always look at the content rather than the quantity of a forum members contribution to the community and I never think someone deserves more respect because of some kind of bizzare forum etiquette or bogus rank based on seniority or post count. Also if anyone is motivated into firing up the PM window to send nasty PM's then that's pretty sad and they really deserve an "I need a life" bumper sticker for sure. There's no greater waste of your time than arguing on a forum and the only time I'll enter into a heated debate is when/if the Frugal F4 fanboy's show up.. but I don't take it seriously and what can I say it's sometimes fun to poke fun at the monkey in the cage ;) . Lastly you haven't made a disgrace of yourself its just a forum for a game/ sim so don't bust a gut over it. All this could have been dealt with quite simply by doing what we usually do when it looks like someone is posting for post count sake (which is no great crime) and that is to just make a few light hearted jokes after they have posted here in the open forums. That said you're only fourteen and I can bet you're taking this way too seriously so just chill out and forget about it because IMO this argument gets placed into the "Handbags at dawn" filing cabinet :P .
