Maciver Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Well, i have the exact same setup minus the proc. I'm running a 3.2gig intel hyperthreaded proc. ( poor mans duel core. ) So yours is quite a bit better. I also have the 8800gts, mine is the 320meg version. I run everything on medium( medium button that is ), plus a few things. i turn on advanced lighting and haze. Plus i like the heat blur. I normally get 20-25fps flying through a big city, anywhere from 40-80 at normal elevations. You will probably have to turn some stuff down at that resolution, or possiblly run with the same settings as me. I run at 1280x1024 due to my flat panel, so i never tried anything better. This game is a monster lol . :joystick: Should probably mention i'm running xp, although i dont know if that makes a difference for you guys fps wise. Oh and welcome to lock-on. :)
hitman Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Not much beef with Vista, just grab the 1.12b patch and fly away.

Definitely increases ability and enjoyment ten-fold :) As for mods and add-ons etc, visit LockOnFiles. Has all you'll need and more. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Mustang Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Heh i still use one of those Cyborg sticks :music_whistling: in conjuction with a CH Pro Throttle, not a bad combo.
EricJ Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 The joystick is just ok. It's a good beginner stick though. As for running LOMAC in Vista, there are some posts here to help walk you thru that. Evidently there are a few hoops to jump thru. Yeah that stick is ok, that's about it. I still use my Sidewinder Precision 2 and it works great. The Evo jumps around too much, not as smooth as the Precision 2, but yeah a good beginner stick. And there's definitely better out there. Matter of fact I'll probably look at something better when the Precision 2 dies, which I hope won't. Aeroscout Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Welcome to lockon. Dont know tto much about the cyborg stick, but I had the microsoft precision pro is very good. if you really get good, you will want a HOTAS stick like the X52 of Cogar. TrackIR is also nice, but that and the HOTAS are a ways down the road. As for you system specs, you should have no problem at all runnig lockon. (especially with that uber graphics card!) there are a few complications with vista, but nothing too difficult to figure out. if you need help, feel freeto come back to these forums. Kuky Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Your system should handle LockOn just fine (just stay away from High Visibility settings), and welcome to LockOn world and these forums :D PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
