Ice Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Might be quite radical. the last one I downloaded was "97.94_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe" The new one is called "158.22_forceware_winxp_english2.exe" Installing it now :pilotfly:
cool_t Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 nice Build it and they will come!! Thanks for you devotion and time, again! :pilotfly:
SuperKungFu Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 yea this was brought up in the tech section, it seems to give me a small boost in fps. I like it. Works well in other sims too like Il2, no black lines in water, no CTD on falcon...etc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ice Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 I got quite a big improvement in 3DMark06 I now get 10756 points without closing normal start up apps, running 2 monitors. Normally to get that sort of score ive got to be running very clean. So about a 500 point improvement. Not bad at all !
3Sqn_Fudd Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I got BF2 problems with that one.. went with TRU 158.16... But yeh, great jumps with 15x.xx http://3sqn.com/forum/ Here's to 1.13 -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0488djMDBU
Rhino104 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I can tell you now, it does NOT fix the shader issue in LockOn.
ED Team Groove Posted May 4, 2007 ED Team Posted May 4, 2007 I wouldnt consider 3D Mark for such tests. Most drivers are optimized for 3d Mark ^^ Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
TorwaK Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I'm using 158.18 with Vista... still it has some problems. Roi Danton Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I got quite a big improvement in 3DMark06That doesn't matter ... nVidia & AMD/ATi heavily optimizing their drivers for the 3DMark series b/c it is used in many benchmark tests (unfortunately, b/c it hasn't anything to do with real gaming - one can't compare video card series and driver versions with this application due to the driver optimizations). The best way to measure fps is to use savegames of your favourite game and fraps.
Rhen Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I'm using 158.18 with Vista... still it has some problems. You can try the vista versions here. Just remember, they're still Beta, although I'm using 158.24 for Vista-64 without problems, and maxed out.
Prophet Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I am using the 165.01's. http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=2224538&postcount=9 So far, I have drastically reduced shimmering @ 16AA. I got a 7900GTX, so I would think that the 8800 would be just as good. I got some screenshots, but they are too large for the forum, I will see about resizing without losing the quality. *edit* ah yes, they are in .bmp, easy enough.

I got a 7900GTX, so I would think that the 8800 would be just as good. The 8800 have an improved image quality overall. Respectively I should say it hasn't the worse image quality of the GeForce7 series. The image quality of the GeForce8 regarding AF and AA could be compared with ATi's X1xx0 series. Furthermore GF8 supports Transparent Anti-Aliasing to improve transparent textures. Image Comparison AA of GF7, ATi X1xx0, GF8 Image Comparison AF of GF7, ATi X1xx0, GF8
Prophet Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Yeah I know :) I think you may have missed what I was saying. This shimmer problem happens to all nVidia cards, regardless of image quality. So if my 7x series shows improvement, you would think the 8x will also.
