Is there any way to re-apply the patch and forcing http as the method?

Just thinking out loud that maybe the peer to peer method spread the bad files or something?

Roger that and thank you NineLine! I am also having the same issue with DCS instantly crashing whenever I try to access anything in game related to the NTTR or PG maps (ME, missions, instant action). On a hunch, I went in and cleared out my Track folder, and I found that I was able to load and fly in the NTTR map. After that mission (just a random practice mission I created using ME), I tried to load a PG mission I created in ME without exiting DCS, and it instantly crashed. I'll include my rig specs and log/dxdiag below.

 

Rig Specs - Dell 17 7000 Series

 

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel® Core i7-7500 @ 2.70GHz

RAM: 15.87GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940MX (latest drivers installed)

Display: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz

Im having the same problems as well, just updated, and NTTR and PG missions makes DCS CTD, updated to brand new nvidia drivers, no luck.

Now im reinstalling DCS just to see if that helps.

Caucasus works fine.

Specs:

i7 7700

GTX 1080ti

16GB RAM

Interestingly, it all worked fine yesterday right after I updated. I flew one PG mission and I believe I also edited it before in the ME. The mission went flawless (except the missing TACAN data in the HSI). I then shut down DCS as usual and went to bed. Tonight I fired up the DCS again and now I have the problem. I didn‘t change anything in between.

Updated my nvidia driver and did a DCS repair. Still doesn‘t work. Tried Caucasus and all works well.

Running on Windows 7.

Doesn't even hang for me, goes to the loading screen for like half a second and then DCS closes/crashes back to desktop

Something I just noticed looking at all the logs of the failing machines vs the two machines I have here that are working if you go down where it's failing..

 

every one of them ends about here:

 

If i look at that same exact section on my working machine, the next set after Enter to state 3 is the Terrain Security Control.

 

eg this one none of the logs show this line:

INFO    SECURITYCONTROL: Loaded mods/terrains/nevada/terrain.cfg.lua.dll.crypt

which would suggest maybe something's going wrong with it? (i've not tried loading into PG on the two machines i'm having no issues with in fear that maybe they'll suddenly break)

 

and saddly the friend i was helping earlier has gone to bed (it's 2am here) so i can't see if copying my copy of that file to his machine solves the issue for example.

 

 

I'm just spitballing here but I'm wondering if this issue somehow involves the keyless DRM in some way. As I mentioned before I had one successful launch on two different machines that were having this issue by deleting the authdata.bin file and looking at the logs from the failed launches versus the successful launches I'm seeing the same thing as above the failed launches all stop at the section where it would be trying to load the terrain.cfg.lua.dll.crypt file. What I can't understand is why I can't replicate the success by re-deleting the authdata.bin. Unfortunately I don't know the ins and outs of what exactly DCS is doing when loading the .crypt file so I may me completely off here.

Can you see if Virus or Firewall is blocking this file? Maybe whitelist this file or the entire Game folder?

 

No effect, nor copying the .cfg.lua.dll.crypt file, nor deleting the auth.

What aircraft are you flying?

My Nevada works with the A-10, but not Hornet.

Hornet works with the Caucasus.....

Won't load NTTR or PG - tried everything short of re-install (as I understand doesn't work anyway). Caucasus works fine with either the A-10C or F/A-18C.

 

I just noticed that I don't have the NTTR in my online list of purchased products; it was there previously. I got that map free (plus it's Key) as I was an original OpenBeta user of the A-10C way back then. It shows up as an option to use Instant Action and ME. It crashes right when it start the 1st of 2 terrain loads (the 2nd being the aircraft pic and load screen).

 

I've attached my dcs.log.txt and dxdiag.txt for review.

 

Please keep us informed.

 

ps. By not having the NTTR in my account, could that be an issue? I just verified the Key is valid and not expired BTW.

If I remember correct the free NTTR does not show in the account list, as it is not a purchase. That should not be related.

It’s not 100%. Only one of our servers are affected and our pilots themselves are only seeing other issues not related.

There is new terrain install bat files dated 31Aug on the support page of your profile for both Nevada and Normandy...which sadly do not fix the missing terrains for me.

After further review and testing:

 

Both PG and NTTR - only create 6 fxo files vs 36 that the Caucasus creates

 

I have one ME miz [Caucasus] that I can use too. So, it appears that this is a map-related issue.

To get the metrics for this release, perhaps ED should post a poll asking if we have this issue. That would help to determine how much of the community is affected.
