Vannipo Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 ... or let it say different: A "VPC Mongoos T-50 Grip" with an analogue stick in the middle (maybe by replacing a hat) and a Twist-Axis would be the most perfect stick (or grip) on earth. I am looking forward to this grip :) Regards Vannipo

Vannipo Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 Oh, just to be sure, the twist-Axis of the new "VPC Mongoos T-55 DELTA Grip" should be lockable (maybe with a small screw or pin). Thanks in advance :P
mdee Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 (edited) A relatively minor upgrade to current T-50 would be great. 4 way + push instead single thumb button (the one on the side) and a key press when lifting front trigger. Don't care about analogue sticks on the grip, not very useful, and the one which is in place of trim in other product is awful and hampers the usefulness of the stick. I never understood twist axis except as a great way of getting RSI :) Edited September 29, 2018 by mdee
MustangSally Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 I agree, leave the twist axis off. chief Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 I agree, leave the twist axis off. Absolutely. You don't come this far in authenticity to have a twist grip
Mars Exulte Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 @mdee Interesting, I don't mind the axis trim. It functions the same, just feels different. I haven't had any trouble from it, anyway. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
Revvin Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 I don't use twist sticks but if its a lockable feature why not include it for those that do?
some1 Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 @mdee Interesting, I don't mind the axis trim. It functions the same, just feels different. Thing is, it feels very different from a real aircraft. You pay top money for the VKB pro stick, and you get something than a 50$ mainstream joystick simulates better. Usually the trim switch in the real aircraft makes a distinct "click" so the pilot feels exactly when it activates and there's less risk of pushing it accidentally (which is the case with almost every switch installed in a real aircraft). So a flimsy minijoystick in this place is the exact opposite of what should be installed there. chief Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 I don't use twist sticks but if its a lockable feature why not include it for those that do? In order to have the twist grip you require more moving parts.whether it’s locked in place or not it’s stlll more moving parts or more joints or whatever. It’s just one more thing that gets wear and tear or the more likelihood that something will go wrong. Besides, just another wasted axis.

some1 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 +1, the side hat is the one needed for most western aircraft. Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Vannipo Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Did you all miss something? Maybe the headline? This thread is not about improving one grip. Or adding a button on a grip. This thread is about combining features of two absolutely different grips and creating a new one. Cause many guys don't fly aviation sims only...
Mars Exulte Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 You should probably focus that sort of thing on Virpil's forums then, as this is an aviation sim forum. As a result 90% of people are going to think in those terms. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2

Yes, we fly aviation combat sims only as far as the forum is concerned. Nobody here cares about twist axis, in context of this forum. The headline in top left corner says "DCS - Digital Combat Simulator", it's really hard to miss. Can we have pedals with twist Y axis (or Z), separate for each foot and foot finger operated tensioner? Edited October 2, 2018 by mdee

Vannipo Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) As I said. You just dont understand the headline. Thats the point. And BTW: What the hell you are talking about? This is absolutely nonsense. YOU cant speak for other people. YES, "we" fly?? WHO is "WE"???? U cant speak for others. WHO do u think u are? Speak for yourself. I AM "YOU", TOO. I AM "WE", too. I am a MEMBER of this forum. So, I can TELL YOU, NOT ALL are flying AVATION SIMs only. And I AM INTERESTED IN THESE FEATURES COMBINING TO A new GRIP. SO, WHY U TALK FOR ME AND OTHERS??? Arrogant guys. MANY people out there CARE about TWIST axis. I think more THAN a HALF have a twist AXIS and USES it. Edited October 3, 2018 by Vannipo

MustangSally Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) MANY people out there CARE about TWIST axis. I think more THAN a HALF have a twist AXIS and USES it. Hmm, don't think so. Check the poll. I very much doubt there would be much interest in a twist axis on high end sim gear. Most who can afford the prices would normally opt for a separate rudder system. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218695 Edited October 3, 2018 by MustangSally Ryzen 9 7950X3D - MSI MAG X670E TomaHawk MB, ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 AIO 64gig Corsair DDR5@6000, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 AORUS Winwing Super Taurus, Orion2, TO / Combat panels, Collective with Topgun MIP Winwing Skywalker pedals, NLR Boeing Mil Edition Simpit, 55" Samsung Odyssey Ark, Trackir

I understand the language barrier (English is not my 1st language too), but you just contradicted yourself here and claimed that "many people have twist axis". Well, I do, in my forearms, certainly, I think majority of people do .:) You getting winded up by asking about twist axis on "hardcore" combat flight sim forum where people get annoyed when a switch on a throttle has slightly different shape than its real life counterpart. If you thought you would get anything else but strong opinions, you should probably get a grip ;) Edited October 3, 2018 by mdee
