Kuky Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I am very impressed with what's being in development from these guys and after flying IL-2 series for few years I am sure this sim will be absolute top notch... today I just found this preview of water effects... I think this sim will have to please in every regard (Flight and damage modeling, weather, awsome new graphics ... by the way notice how good the trees look in this short video... with all the goodies IL-2 series had with much improved graphics as well as added propper weather... this will really be a kick ass sim... and honestly I think it'll be good competition to Black Shark) Best part is... we get them both :D and then when Fighter OPS get finished too... can't complain aye  PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
sp0nge Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 It has the fraps watermark at the top but he's recording it with his Digital Camera? ???? Whatever. Cool waves! Will this impact much of frames Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 If you knew what IL-2 Sturmovik was you'd know what this sim is :music_whistling: and no, it's not a naval sim... it's (as the tittle says) WWII flight sim to depict Battle of Britain scenario.. then it will be followed by other parts of the world... same as IL-2 series did. PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
EscCtrl Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Yeah I'm definitley getting this game, and Oleg will probably release 4 or 5 addons which I'll get too :P I swear that machine used in the video was struggling to render that.
Kusch Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 It is a navy battles simulator? :megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol: Be sure the flight model its best in the world ;) Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
Weta43 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 the "effets 1" clip is better - those waves & the swell look amazing - & fps hungry ... The "1c Maddox Games Battle Of Britain - Storm Of War. Graphics" clip is pretty amazing as is "LOCK ON Super Nintendo SNES" Cheers.
VVanks Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Wow, that ran like molasses. Homepage: http://www.worldwynd.net Coming Soon: http://www.simplywyn.com
SuperKungFu Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 that looks pretty cool, hope to see it soon. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 I think so too Preview 1 is bit better on showing water, but Preview 2 has got very nice view on trees as well... I agree the water effect HAS to be large FPS killer but then again I don't know what system that guy was running and also if they enable multi core use with BoB... we're in for great treat (well those of us who like to fly Prop planes as well at least :D) Just check this out: I like what I'm seeing there, and then again... this sim will come with many addons as well same as IL-2... they would be doing a smart move to have posibility for such effects... later on there will be hardware that'll be able to run it without a problem. There are few more previews on WIP of this sim... cockpits are top notch for all flyables... and they've drastically improved on ground and buildings... and by the looks of it... they have by far best looking trees I've ever seen... BlackShark, BoB, Fighter OPS... it's a good period for flight simmers :pilotfly: PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
SuperKungFu Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 o yea, looks like flight sims are having a golden age. Can't wait for the future. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hitman Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It has the fraps watermark at the top but he's recording it with his Digital Camera? ???? Whatever. Cool waves! Will this impact much of frames Have you ever tried recording with fraps? IIRC your considered lucky if you get an average of 10fps, and yeah ppl do record these via video camera. Why settle for 10fps when you can have 23? Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot.
Weta43 Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It's the digicam stuff he's put through FRAPS, not the game. Cheers.

Kuky Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 Nice link Geier  even if it's few months old it shows quite a bit of what's been worked on for BoB. PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Geier Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Nice link Geier  even if it's few months old it shows quite a bit of what's been worked on for BoB. Of course... AFAIK, this video was featured in December 2006
DPS Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Yes, the water/splash effects in Pacific Fighters look excellent, even though my graphics card doesn't support shader (must buy a new one). When a/c crash/ditch at an oblique angle you see a series of smaller splashes too which give the impression of the a/c breaking up. DPS.

Started playing PF again today, I can play it all on above full graphics (went into the config and upped the settings) Looks stunning (though water=2 as I have an ATi card so can't go to 4) Haven't tried a large battle with hundreds of aircraft yet, the only time the PC struggled was playing Tarwara over the lagoon, still looked great though.
Jester_159th Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I'm waiting eagerly for this as well. Also for the Gennadich WW1 sim Knights of the Sky. That looks like it could also be very tasty. http://www.gennadich.com/id/69/
jurinko Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Not speaking about the third-party map being built for PF :P
Geier Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It's the map of Slovakia. We expect it in the 4.09 patch;)

Kuky Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 After seing this I'm thinking getting IL-2 1946 DVD and reinstalling IL-2 again... I think it's been 2 years wince I stoped playing it. I completely forgot the beauty and feeling of flying WWII aircraft with few squadies :joystick: I think I'm gonna have hard time choosing which sim to fly the most... BoB, BlackShark or Fighter OPS (when they all come out) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
