Anyone try the new one yet? Im still downloading the patches but Im told the Tailradar is still in, they have the same exact weight in the editor??? The only difference seems to be the single antenna on the tail for the 3d model.

Like the real thing, D-25 and D-30 are the same NA model. Only minor changes.

Man, 3 Mustangs to pick from eventually?

Looking good, guys. I wss pretty let down about the demise of the P-40F, so it's great to see some unexpected WWII candy en route.

There is no 3rd Mustang, just the two. -25 and the -30 we have had for years

I'm hoping that the -25 will fix a missing feature I've been trying to convince ED to add, coolant relief valves...

Yes but somehow I doubt the change in Radio equipment would result in an aircraft that weighs exactly the same, down to the pound. I think all they did was change the 3d model.

Seems to be more manifold pressure and it seems easier to fly, more stable
Increased octane to 150. Not sure what it was before though, between 100 and 130 as advertised, probably.

That’s incorrect, the 150 octane variant is coming in the future

Pretty sure that's not incorrect

A-10C and Ka-50 cockpits are getting converted to new textures, P-51D has another variant with new higher octane coming later, the K-4 and D-9 are getting new cockpits, all the WWII warbirds are getting their cooling reworked, and a DM is in internal testing. Much more beyond that... there is a very nice balance of new and update/fixing going on if you look close enough.

No, according to NineLine’s post today you are incorrect. There will be another P51 variant with 150 octane gas coming later. Believe me if we would have gotten a 150 octane Pony today I would be singing ED’s praises from the roof tops. All we got today was cosmetic on the exact same aircraft we already had.

No he’s not, 150 octane mustangs will run 75” manifold pressure. Not 61” or WEP at 67”. There is zero difference between the -25 & -30. It’s all cosmetic, they even weight the exact same down to the pound even after removing the iff system.

I ran the updater, but I don't have this, yet. Still the old P-51 model. Am I supposed to go somewhere and download this?

If you’ve updated, go into the mission editor and create a basic mission and place the P51D-25 as the airplane. As far as I know there’s no way to access the new modal from the main menu, you will need a mission or get on a server that has it as an option. SOW on the Caucuses map online has some.
