WelshZeCorgi
How do you know when it's coming and how do you correct it? I seem to lose power during landings when I'm adding power during the phase when you start to lose translational lift.
FragBum
By not pulling hard on the collective, look at the engine RPM and rotor RPM gauges the generator failure will happen under 2 conditions Rotor under RPM and rotor over RPM You need to keep descent rate well under say 1 mtr/second when your out of ETL when you have some speed over say 100Kph you can be a little more keen on descent initially try to keep this under say 3mtr/second. Holton181
Just a heads-up, you probably already know it, but the VSI is graded in m/s and not f/min, so the resolution is less than many people are used to, i.e. "3" on the m/s scale is faster than "3" on the f/min. Looney
In the pilot cockpit instrument, lower left is an indicator showing you the blade AOA. Don't make changes that go beyond 3 degrees / second when flying her, even less when in ETL or ground effect as she will react quite prickly when you do so. Tiger-II
Sounds like you suddenly pull a lot of collective and bog the rotor system casing a loss of rotor RPM due to increased drag from the rotor blades. The engines are not reacting fast enough to maintain rotor RPM, and consequently you're losing the generators. You can pull collective, but do it slower, and sooner.
