I'm sure its a windows 10 update thing but does anybody else have a white rectangle covering 90% of the screen when you get in game? Menu works fine in DCS, Steam VR has no issues, its just once you get into the cockpit.

Beyond that, its a rectangle. big one. If you look down and bring your eyes up, the game is playing, the cockpit and everything is there. You just have this big, god awful white triangle in front of you no matter what way you look.

Latest drivers installed, had no issues until today. System specs in signature below.

Had that as well with that Windows 10 update (the DCS update worked well, and after the Windows update, it didn't). After messing with some NVIDIA settings - sadly I didn't write down which ones - it works just fine once again.

Maybe delete the shaders? Like you do with Kegetys shader mod? Or try a repair?

If you can find what you changed I'd really appreciate it.

Didn't think of trying a repair. I would think it a Nvidia or Win10 thing but I'll give it a go.

I had this problem yesterday with the Odyssey Plus. I had been experimenting with SS in IL-2 and fpsVR. I launched the latest DCS OpenBeta and encountered this "white box of death." I thought it might be related to the OpenBeta update, so tried the release version and encountered the same thing. I then reset Super sampling back to 1, rebooted and it was fine. I was able to reset SS back to 2 and all appears normal. Based on the Vive thread, apparently the problem is not confined to just the O+ . However, I didn't try this with my Vive, but will the next time it happens.

It is an issue happening on Vive as well. No proven solution so far.

I have tried reducing super sampling (in DCS) below 2 and the only thing that happened was to increase the box to cover all the area (with super sampling at 2.5 I have got the problem as per the screenshots, just left side)...

Posted

I stand corrected: reducing super sampling below 1.6 in DCS VR Options get rid of the problem.

Unfortunately, anything above 1.7 bring back the big coloured box obstructing view.

Thanks for the reply itarrow. I tried it and it does solve the problem.

Seems however that I've become extremely pampered at a PD of 2.0 and its rather hard to revert. I guess it'll do for now until a solution is provided.

Have you seen the threads about getting a HDMI to usb-c/thunderbolt adapter to solve the issue? Not sure if it gets this particular problem fixed or not.

PS: I'll open a ticket with ED on the topic.

I will try to increase supersampling in SteamVR instead of DCS VR options: maybe doing SS out of DCS will avoid the issue till when we get a solution...

Did anyone get any further with this? This issue is quite a day killer.

Same issue with Pimax5K+. Did number of resets here and there. No idea what worked as there seems to be no consistency. I’ve only encountered this with dcs. OB in use.
