[REPORTED] Multiple Crashes in 2.5.4 - Logs

Had 3 crashes recently, all on MP in the TTI server. Cant remember doing anything in particular, just flying around in the hornet or harrier. All 3 have an access violation in the crash file, not sure what this means, but here is the logs.

 

I have never experienced crashes like this prior to 2.5.4.

Firstly think of am access violation with an analogy

 

The keeper of stores, Stores Sargent has a store room of items much as a function/program has a portion of memory to store information to access any of the items in the stores you need to do so via the Stores Sargent the same is true for accessing memory belonging to a function/program you need to do so using the correct procedure, not only can you not have access to item x the attempt is reported.

 

As always if you use the correct protocol it's fine if not it's an access violation. :)

 

What this means is within the program there is some code that is attempting access something it has no privilege to it may be a error in the code or something altered by mods which seems probable as 2.5.4 caused some mods to not work at all or at best flaky.

No mods. At one point i had installed the Skyhawk mod, but I deleted it because it wasnt compatible with online servers. Did that a couple weeks ago.

I just flew around for an hour or two online no problem in the F5, so maybe something to do with hornet or harrier?

Have you tried the delete fxo and metashaders directories in users->saved games-> DCSworldOB

 

And the repair utility ?

 

 

I have some weirdness happening with DCS with 2.5.4 but the crashing stopped after i updated the nvidia driver which I think yours is already updated.

I delete those folders each time there is an update. The only thing I've changed is the version of DCS. Thanks for the idea.

 

Usually when there are crashes from this many different users, they are quick to sort it out. Heres hoping.

Hello,

 

Myself and others are experiencing multiple crashes in DCS in MP. It either closes and goes to desktop, or generates a crash log. Have 3 from yesterday...

 

Please see attached logs. Have done all the usual driver updates and reinstalls, no mods, vanilla dcs, deleted fxo and metashaders, cleaned and repaired but still happening...

You mean the host crash to desktop without crash message/crash log/track file, but client have crash log and track file ?

Were you on Persian gulf map ?

No, all the clients crashed to desktop plus server crashed also. Some had black screen, client shut without generating a log, and other crashes produced a log all in a 2 hour window.

 

We were using Caucasus and changed server but still got a crash.

 

The crash codes are all memory violations. GPU and RAM are now running at max where before were lower. Am thinking possible "memory leak" issue.

Ok, doesn't seem to be the same issue so, or maybe it's related but can take different ways.

I was able to reproduce a crash with one of the included tracks, although the crash seemed different, it crashed all the same, so I have reported it.

I always crash in MP, anything between 20min to 2hours
