al531246 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Maybe but even the NATOPS doesn't specify numbers that high for landing. Intel i5-8600k | EVGA RTX 3070 | Windows 10 | 32GB RAM @3600 MHz | 500 GB Samsung 850 SSD

Flamin_Squirrel Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Max weight for carrier landing is 34,000lbs.
Darcwaynard Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Because erveytime I turn, I ended far way from the Carrier...Of you're too far after break it's not your weight it's how you're turning. Bank/idle/brakes Pull G @ 1% of airspeed Dirty up 250 Level out 180 degrees from break Should end up 0.9-1.1 nm abeam carrier regardless of aircraft weight. Darcwaynard Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Yes, I'm sure I'm doing all in a proper way though..Also you could try to jettison some stores and hit the fuel dump switch to lose more weight. If I'm trying to land with a ton of gas I'll usually run the fuel dump till I'm around 4000lbs of fuel. crazysundog Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 (edited) Dump fuel to get to landing weight. I will bring up my TO/Landing checklist, figure out how much fuel needs to be dumped. Say I have 9000 lbs fuel, and need to dump 4000 lbs to land; I will set bingo fuel to 5000 lbs and hit the fuel dump switch. It will automatically stop at the set bingo state, and the chime and "bingo" call lets me know I can land. edit: at that weight you will need to jettison stores as well Edited February 3, 2019 by crazysundog
macedk Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 real life u would kill the landing gear at 46000 pounds. So aim for 34000 and max 36000 and u are golden OS: Win10 home 64bit*MB: Asus Strix Z270F/ CPU: Intel I7 7700k /Ram:32gb_ddr4 GFX: Nvidia Asus 1080 8Gb Mon: Asus vg2448qe 24" Disk: SSD Stick: TM Warthog #1400/Saitek pro pedals/TIR5/TM MFDs [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VFA41_Lion Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 In sim, no problem landing on a carrier at 46,000 lbs. Just be on glideslope/meatball all the way with full flaps.
Kenan Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I never land that heavy..even if the sim allows it, it's not how's it's supposed to be done IRL. I usually land on the carrier with around 30,000 pounds of overall weight.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . VFA41_Lion Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 its a matter of personal taste, but if the sim lets me do something, i'm doing it ;)
Rescue Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 "in 2 weeks" they will surely implement a damage if you're doing landings with far more than 34000 pounds or when you pull your paddle to overwrite G limiter.
