joca133 Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 I added one to mine, very useful to setup the aircraft at night. Just a quick browse and you will find Werewolf’s mirage nvg mod. Then set the nvg focus distance, and its beautiful. I do wish it came oficially, but I doubt it ever will. To be honest I use it mostly to compensate for the poor resolution and brightness I get with VR.

33-DFTC Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 NVGs are coming with the Mid-Life Overhaul planned for sometime this year. You can read the statement from Zeus by clicking here. There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC

Harlikwin Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Interesting. IRL there is quite a bit of work involved in terms of the cockpit lighting and MFD's/HUD to get them to work with NVG's. Not sure one way or the other if it was used on the Mirage, but I doubt a French 80's era fast jet would have had the capability as even the US was struggling to work out the various issues, and Gen3 ANVIS goggles weren't really available in any numbers until the late 80's early 90's. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).
33-DFTC Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 The Mirage 2000-C is still flying combat operations today, it is a possibility they made some adjustments/upgrades to allow their pilots to use NVGs. Harlikwin Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Without a doubt thats possible. But the question remains what exact model is in the "sim". myHelljumper Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Current model in the sim is the 2000C S5, and IIRC it's the same that is still used. But I'm not sure if they added NVG compatibility to the cockpit. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
M2K Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 French Air Defence variants are not NVG capable, as their cockpit has not been modified (it implies adaptations on the lightning). M
Timghetta Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 French Air Force Mirage 2000C have been converted to use NVG. I have seen and been in the cockpit personally with the NVG converision. As Zeus said we will be adding NVG to the M2000C Module. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] We take the Metal and bring it to Mesh
myHelljumper Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 French Air Force Mirage 2000C have been converted to use NVG. I have seen and been in the cockpit personally with the NVG converision. As Zeus said we will be adding NVG to the M2000C Module. This means that our DCS m-2000C will have the NVG converted cockpit ? Or will we have the current cockpit with NVGs ? 33-DFTC Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Interesting question. The team is about to go to France to scan various Mirage 2000 cockpits, perhaps we'll be able to have an updated -C model ? There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC

Matchstick Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Just for anyone who (like me) is dreadful at languages the sub head at the top of the second page - "La capacité apportée par les jumelles de vision nocturne sur Mirage 2000C est une une nouveauté" is translated by Google Translate as "The capacity brought by the night vision binoculars on Mirage 2000C is a novelty"
Plastic Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I created a little mod for myself to add the keyboard and shortcuts to enable the DCS NVG. You can find it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303791/ Works in 2.5.4 but I haven't tested multiplayer. Turn down the brightness on the HUD and cockpit lighting and it works reasonably well. Plastic Plastic
