[FIXED INTERNALLY] Re Arming AGM 65F no go

Recommended Posts

Re arming with 4 AGM 65 F, can not select the missiles. Step doesn't work. Can not Uncage them.

Previous sortie had 2 AGM 65F, 4 GBU12 and a Mk 20 centreline. After re arm, with 4 AGM 65F and a single Mk 20, GBU 12 still shown on DDI Stores page.

DCS Full version 2.5.4.27430

AGM-65F rearm warm up delay

Fresh repair of DCS. Created new mission, hot runway start at Batumi with 4xAGM-65F. Launch, warm up, ripple 4 in one pass. Land at Kobuleti, rearm hot.

Takeoff again, wait for the countdown time.

Timer counts for 2 mins then disappears, 30 seconds later screen comes up. Able to launch 1 maverick. Screen goes back to the warmup stage, no countdown clock.

Wait 3 minutes (no timer present, watching HUD for time) , 1 missile warms up and I’m able to launch 1 Mav.

Same for the rest of them.

It appears the it’s only warming up 1 missile at a time, not all of them at once.

Track file in the dropbox link.

Good tip, but that doesn’t sound like it’s right. You don’t need to do that on initial warmup, why on rearms?

If this is still happening, please post a track, when I try the steps provided here, all the missiles warm up at the same time.

Did you run the track I posted?

I get the same bug in the same situation too. It’s been a thing for awhile actually. They warm up one at a time after a rearm.

Its as if the weapons system still sees GBU 12's. On the Hog you re initialise the system. I wonder if its not re initialising here?

In my case it was 4 x 65F, fired all 4 and rearmed, then they’d only warm up one at a time

They surely should all be warned up and ready to fire at the same time.

The GBU12 should not persist after a rearm with no GBU12.

Has anyone noticed the Maverick will lock onto none armoured targets occasionally? I get locks on to trees and other objects sometimes when slewing the gates around.

On another note, I'd like the Rockeyes to be a bit more effective against armor. At the moment, they look pretty but don't do much! Oh for a CBU97!:music_whistling:

Attached is a track I made. It shows that, after taking off from the carrier with 4 x 65F, the first warm up and firing is normal.

After landing (excuse my very overweight and less than stellar carrier landing) and rearming, the warm up then goes as normal - for the first maverick. Note there is a bit of a delay from when the countdown stops to when you can actually uncage it, but it's only about 5 secs or so.

After firing the first one, you must wait 3 mins (though there's no countdown and I didn't time it, I think it's 3 mins) before you can uncage and fire the next. This continues for the remaining 3 65Fs.

I used some time compression making this track, I hope that didn't cause any issues (I was short on time).

The track is too large to post on the forum, so please find it at the following link:

Let me know if there's any issues with it.

Thanks

Thanks, I will try it out, it's possible that the reason I couldn't reproduce is that I checked the other stations before the first one was done, maybe that is what I am missing here.

Thanks!

Also funny, my first attempt to create a track, I did an air start. Not only did the issue not arise after rearming, but there was no warm up required at all after rearming! Separate issue but perhaps related?

If you check the other stations it initializes them all. That gets you around the issue.

If you don’t cycle through the stations, like you would do on your first warmup, it only warms up one missile instead of all of them.

I confirmed today the following problem. Fly the F18 and shoot four IR Mavericks, then land and reload four more IR (AMG65F) Mavericks, then when you shoot each one, the camera shuts of and the screen goes black. You have to wait about 3 minutes for the camera to warm up again, then fire the second Maverick and the camera shuts off, and it needs to wait three more minutes again to warm up. Camera has to warm up after each missile shot.

Caucasus - F/A 18 Load four AGM65F shoot them (camera works OK)

Land Reload four new AGM65F - Fly and Shoot one missile = camera shuts off.

You can probably duplicate this issue just by doing that test?

It may be that after rearming each maverick is only beginning the cooldown (not warmup) when selected individually, instead of when any is selected.

I typically cycle through all the mavericks after takeoff to set narrow FOV for each, and later when I fire them I don't need to wait 3min between each one.

The countdown timer doesn't seem to be correct though and sometimes is not shown at all.

The problem is there. There is something wrong with it's function if it is not the same requirement to operate for each use. It works differently for each new load of four mavericks, something is quirky for sure. Camera and warm up is not predictable. Would be nice to see an acknowledgement from the dev team on this post that the issue is known and being addressed. Hopefully they know about this because they are a great ordnance to use. (and fun). Just need them to work the same each time and be predictable for a standard operation. Each time I use them and try to do the same thing to make them work, the camera may or may not come on.

When I Load the first time up, all four warm at once together. No need to cycle and warm each. Seems like the second group of four need special attention. Even then camera still seems quirky with on or off.

First question would be:

Do you have to warm up each missile separate? Or do you warm up only once per load of 4 with all four being warmed at once.

Checked again on our dev build and not able to reproduce, it's possible it's fixed internally already, just hasn't trickled down to OB or release yet.
