About your questions :

1) We simply don't know, as we do it on our free time (which has proved particularly limited for some of us this year)

2) Depends on what part you ask for ?

----> cockpit retexturing & planes textures : mainly photoshop

----> 3D making : 3DSmax or Blender (depends on the creator)

----> scripts, configuration files... etc. : little utilities (notepad++) and proprietary scripts/macros if needed

3) Yes. Same method as for any plane in LockOn. Original textures are in a CDDS file, you can use ModMan to get their filenames.

I saw that you are doing two new version of mirage f1C, those are as spain has.

 

If you didnt change the textures, i would try to paint mirage f1m and i will send you if you want, I know that you are doing for french air force, but if you put that textures in your ada mod, it will perfect for us

I have a problem, I´m working for spanish air force for lomac, i finished the models, but i have no idea how the animation can appear in lock on, i have seen that is something about arguments, when I export .lom the model appears but animation doesn´t work.could you help me?how can I export the model to .cmd?in the cockpit, can I move the gauges from the default position?I´m trying to work 3d cockpit like your alphat jet, but I don´t know how can i move gauges,and last, my aircraft have a low resolution, but my aircraft with self-ilumination are fantastic, doy you know the problem?is about graphic.cfg? thank you

About the F1 : At this time, we have only made french paintshemes. Feel free to add yours, but perhaps is it better to wait a bit, as the mapping may have been changed (at the margin) for AdA v2.

 

3D quick hints :

- you cannot export .cmd models, the plugin released by ED only makes .lom

- all animations are indeed argument based in LO models ; You have to set this in 3DS max.

 

Feel free to open another thread here, or to post on AdA forums (*) : I'm not a 3D artist myself, so I can't answer all your questions.

Besides, the present thread is not intended to become a 3D support thread ;)

Actually, my surprise was the whole package and the look of it.

 

I followed the dev. updates on the forums, so I was somewhat aware of the planeset (I thought we'd see a Rafale M. But a B is even better :D). The only plane I wasn't expecting was the E-3C. And I loved to see it there!

 

Comments are the expected for such a mod, and I'll divide them in parts:

 

Before I start, just something: I was surprised with the ammount of aircrafts taxiing to the runway before it started. Wasn't expecting to see so many planes in the display.

 

1. The Alphajet: Airone did a nice work there. The model is outstanding, and the skin looks marvelous. I suppose it was Virevolte flying them, considering you're moving to the Alphajet. Correct :D?

 

2. E-3C: One model some didn't cared much was the Lock On's default E-3A. Altought with a nice skin, the model wasn't really up to the game's standards (taking in consideration the good models). I always missed the C version of the Sentry, and seeing it there, in the colours of Armée de l'Air, was a wonderful surprise. Model looks great, as well as skin.

 

3. Mirage 2000-5, 2000C & 2000D (by the way, the slot escorting the E-3C was a two-seater C or a D?): What else can I say? Delta powaaaa!! The model is an piece of art. Textures, again, marvellous.

 

4. Mirage F-1C & F-1CT*: This one caught my attention while still on the runway - being a fan of the v1 model, it was a good surprise to see a even more detailed model in v2. And the textures are even better! Couldn't believe on the quality of the skins. Whoever did them, congratulations!

 

5. Super Étendard: An excellent airplane, sorely missed by the community as well. A great addition. Very nice 3D model, and an excellent skin as well. Will give me a good time in carrier ops (any plans to include a Foch in the mod, by the way :D?)

 

6. Mirage IV: I have to say, didn't pay much attention to it :doh: Was too amused with the Étendard and the 2000D. But took two screenshots of the last flight, so I can study it later. Didn't notice so many differences comparing to the v1, as the screenshots are really low-resolution (set Livestream on Full Screen). But, as it's the same as v1, an awesome model and skin too! Sad thing it's been retired some years ago... A really nice aircraft, a piece of history.

 

7. Last but not least, the Rafale B: Many were the times when a bunch of us rushed to type "Rafale!!" & related words when a video of this marvel was shown. The ritual was followed from the first rehearsal day until the closing of VFAT. The Rafale and Rouet's demonstration is enjoyable even after six days watching it multiple times a day, and twice live. And there we are, after seeing all the flights leaving and then... BOOOOOM!! and there goes my window (Oh, not again... :D) The Tiger Meet scheme should be displayed at the Louvre instead of VFAT, as well as the model. I was quite surprised by the amount of detail we saw in this plane. The afterburner effect was one of the most realistic I've seen in flight simulators, really well done. Can't do anything but support the tradition... "RAFALE!!". Unfortunately, I had to leave right after you broke my window (I want a new one soon, it's minus 5º C outside and I'll freeze out here with such a big breach :D), but I'll check the replays as soon as they're made available.

 

(*) Would like to comment on the Blues Brothers display. What a show! Gave a loud laught on the crash because of the radio comms. "Et droite. Et merde.":megalol: One of my favourites performances of VFAT, still. One of, if not THE best soundtrack of the show (for obvious reasons :music_whistling:).

 

A marvelous show you guys provided us, and I hope to see a similar one at VFAT 2011 :D

A few answers :

1) I suppose so, too :) Pilots for the display were from well known aerobatics teams : PSV, VV & JTS. Thanks to all, folks !

 

2) Actually, it was an E-3F (french version). Very similar to the modernized E-3C (on the exterior) so let's assume it's the same. By the way, there will be a renewed E-3A & C on the same slot.

 

3) Escort for the AWACS was two Mirage 2000-5F (modernised single seater) and one Mirage 2000B (training dual seater).

 

4) Yes, textures are nice thanks to many artists in the team :) There was an F1C, a -CT and a -CR (a bit heavily loaded, this one... ahem...)

 

5) The SEM is still WIP, but was good enough for such an airshow. We have no plan for a Foch or Clemenceau at this time, sorry. But who knows... one day, perhaps ;)

 

6) It's an upgraded version of the Mirage IVP from the V1 : It has a nice aftherburner (same on Rafale & other AdA planes), a crew, more precise 3D details and full animations.

 

7) Really sorry about your window. Hope you know how to knit a sweater ? Anyway, I'm sure Tigrou'll be glad to read you, and the whole team with him :)

Cant wait for this rafale release, coz previous one have the same failure as VEAO typhoon - nose raised to match lenght of nose gear. It looks in horizontal flight as plane was clibing. This is because previous rafale was marine version that have longer nose gear. Air force rafale should be more fun :)

Do Yopu consider Tigrou any weapon models to come with it as You've done with gripen?

I would love to see SCALP missiles and rafale's additional fuel tanks, and obvieousely CFTs :)
