MobiSev Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Will the RIO seat require the pilot's approval before someone is able to occupy it in multiplayer? Modules owned: FC3, M-2000C, Mig-21bis, F-5E, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, KA-50, Mi-8, F-14A&B, JF-17
Pougatchev Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I pretty sure of this, imagin troll going in all tomcat on a side and making crap... No way /
Grimes Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Yes. It uses the current system that you can see on the L-39 and Gazelle. Basically the pilot will get a prompt to accept/decline. They can also wait for the request to timeout, at which point it is declined automatically. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. The RIO would be able to accept or reject a pilot? Or can you not occupy a RIO seat before a pilot has joined? Since jester is there to assist a single player, the AI for pilot cannot do anything other than simple autopilot type actions. Can't land or take off or engage targets. So the pilot is really in charge in this circumstance. "Chops"

Is it a window popping up right amidst the screen that I have to click away? That would be bothering enough within a sortie... In that case ED should add an option to "auto decline" those requests that can be switched within a session in the options menu
Ramsay Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Haven't been to multi seat MP yet - how does that prompt look like? Is it a window popping up right amidst the screen that I have to click away? A request dialog 'pops up' on the LH side of the screen, near where the chat text scrolls. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Repth Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) The request box for MP shows up near the chat box for me (VR) so it isn't in the way while flying, I'm not sure if it's different using a monitor. Edit: Sniped Edited March 5, 2019 by Repth Sniped
Eldur Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Good to know, so this isn't catching all of our attention at least
