Don't have the track file as I wasn't flying that plane, but yeah .. it's good to know that the HarrInternet_Explorer-16.pngr now has a standoff capability :-)

(the ie logo in the harrier is a joke, please don't take it the wrong way.)

So, what is the Bug/ Problem you like to report here?

What you see is the 8nm bug at work you might be better off posting that at the ED section, nothing to do with the Harrier.

Hello Vfa-81 Fix.

Thank you for discouraging people to report bugs.

To answer your question: I see the lofting as a defect. when laser is lost bombs usually go dumb and don't pull up again.

Thank you for also knowing that bug, I didn't, hence I reported it. If this is officially an ED bug, then I hope the powers that be can kindly relay it / move it there.

Dont mind him deadpool. And the more bugs reported eventually means more bus fixed even if its not fast. You should also pm decoy with a link to the bug.

Not always, some LGB are programmed to go "long" if they loose track (to help avoid hitting friendly JTAC's,etc.)

ED are working on improving the guidance logic of GBU's, it's possible what you are seeing is WIP (if the bomb lost track).

Another option is, that you hit the ~8NM limit for the illuminating laser, beyond which laser guided weapons will track a mid air laser spot (or perhaps ED have a WIP solution).

moved from the bug section, mainly because you cant post a youtube video without track files to report a bug,

If you experience this on your PC please ca you post a track file :)

Paveway II GCU may do one of two things when laser is lost: it may remain in the last commanded position or it may de energize and allow springs to return the fins to neutral. In the first case the bomb may fly quite erratically as the fins will most likely be hard over at the time guidance was lost.

Do we believe dcs models gbus to that level of fidelity?

OP, are you sure you didn't experience the infamous "magic laser-tipped wand" DCS bug ?

I mean, the laser can't lase at more than 7-9nm away ; if the lasing aircraft is farther away, then laser doesn't stop - in fact the laser point (that the bomb follows) is placed as if it was at the end of a 7-9nm long wand that the lasing aircraft points at the target : therefore in mid-air, which would explain the bomb climbing up to meet it.
