I was able to return my HP Reverb to HP for a new model replacement, I'm assuming since directly from HP it will be a revised model.

I should be getting it tomorrow

Interesting Hafer, I have similar setup - I'm curious why "1.1" and not just "1.0" - do you notice a difference ? I run 1.0 with MSAA 2x, perhaps running 1.1 without it is achieving the same end goal ?

I did a lot of testing and with PD1.1 i loss no performance but gain a bit more of clarity. Without MSAA it looks a bit sharper/crispier. In my old CV1 days i prefered SS over msaa, too (i was running 1,8 PD with cv1).

I returned my consumer edition and getting pro tomorrow.

Is this because of the leather vs. cloth - I assumed they were identical outside of that ?

Why did you return your consumer?

i returend my pro v2 and ordered an consumer v2 cause it was much cheaper (499 vs 700).

Which pads do you guys prefer and why?

A) Consumer pad

B) Pro pad (leather)

Thanks!

Personally prefer A. Less sweating but it is preferable for personal usage.

B is better for multiple users, easier to clean and maintain with multiple users.

GGot my Reverb replacement from HP yesterday. I can’t see any physical difference between the two. I did see a YouTube video where it was stated that gen 2 would have a extra clip for the cable connection. I managed to test them for maybe 20 minutes without any issues, doesn’t mean they’re good though. Anyone here received a gen 2 from HP?

I guess you have the consumer edition not the pro. I had the pro (now consumer) and compared to the consumer your eyes are a bit more off the lenses.

I'm using foam from https://vrcover.com (Odysee+ fits well)

Nope. I have the Pro. :) As for the foam from VR cover, my weather stripping only cost 4 bucks. ;)

Yes, if I pull it away from my face the effect is reduced. It looks a bit like looking through a tube, otherwise. I am still busy tweaking.

I get now ok performance, but I tried using Steam SS (160%) and the motion reproduction - I flew the first mission of the new UH-1 campaign and got huge stutters once the bullets were flying. I recall that I was not too happy experimenting with that option back with O+ either, so I'll switch it of and see if I remain stutterfree.

Dial your Steam VR SS back to 100% (anything beyond that doesn't have any noticeable improvement in clarity), and make sure DCS PD is set to 1.0. Motion reprojection works great with those settings.

Me. I bought a consumer directly by HP store.

Well I mean PD or SS has an effect in clarity, maybe it is all placebo. But I have no idea what motion reprojection should affect and therefore I do not get any notable placebo effect from this and am not able to appreciate it.

I still have my O+ VRCover, I need to try it out...

Suppose to help if your frames dip, maintain a consistent view.

So after 8 days of waiting for replacement Reverb, had to use my Odyssey... Man it's like Christmas all over again - looks so good!

For me, the most visible effect of using motion reprojection is when looking around in the cockpit. Without it enabled, when you move your head quickly in the cockpit, things look smeared. When its turned on though, it can cause ghosting of objects outside the cockpit if you're running PD or SS too high. I have experimented with PD and SS with the Reverb, and I don't see any difference between 100% and 160%, except the difference in performance. That leads me to believe that the Reverb can display more than what DCS is capable of producing in the VR environment. Just wish there was a way of confirming what resolution is actually being displayed in VR. My guess is that the VR environment in DCS just isn't capable of attaining an actual resolution of 2160 X 2160, let alone anything higher than that.

Folks, I'm struggling a bit with my Reverb in DCS.

Although my have a quite fast PC with a 2018 Ti, all Steam VR stuff recent (beta), correct settings (i.e. those most recommend), motion repo. on, I have a strangly stuttering image.

It is alright as long as I don't move my head. But when I do, motion kind of stutters. It reminds a bit of what you get if you enable "Motion Blur" in the DCS settings.

The fps generally seem to be OK, though.

Any ideas what could cause this?

Well sounds like the stuff I had once the bullets were flying I think too much motion might just cause too much to reproject. I had my trials in Huey which wobbles quite a bit by itself. I can not say that my problem is gone for good. Flew just one mission after switching it off, everything was normal, but then nobody was shooting.

Also it might have been my method of starting. When I launched the DCS from Steam it somehow insisted on kicking in the revive, in the next trial I started windows VR, SteamVR and then started DCS from DCS update - I am not even sure if it took the SteamVR SS once started this way.

Try switching the motion reproduction off?

I am looking at the fpsvr - from what I understand you should be able to change steam as or the motionreprojection on the fly? Does this work with DCS as well, I guess one should really see her if SS changes the clarity, if you can really change it while playing...

Interesting, as I would say 'clarity' - is just fine, it's very clear. It's handling any ghosting/stuttering that is bigger issue.

Rev - A is a change to the box and not the Reverb. The serial number is the only way I know of so you can tell if it is a fixed unit generally.

That sounds like motion reprojection isn't actually turned on.

One thing that is confusing in steamvr settings:

If you don't select the override and you also have the app listed will it always use the app listed setting ?

In that case video setting was 86% and DCS is %100 - nothing checked

If its juddering/stuttering, it might be a tracking problem. Try to increase the lighting in the room.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

How noticeable is the narrow "sweet spot" many have mentioned?

Do the edges really get THAT blurry? Does it bother you in game when not looking for it?

I also have the O+ with the adjustable IPD. My experience is that I spent a lot of time with that trying to find the sweet spot due to blurry edges. It really had to be dead center. Now on the Reverb I do not have these issues. I find the sweet spot to be pretty large, good enough.
