PROBLEM: The Right Mouse Click to activate the Emergency Landing Gear Handle is a bad idea. First, it gives the pilot a 50% chance that he'll screw up and "Right Click" the handle instead of "Left Click" it. Second, it is so close to the Spoiler/Anti-Skid switch which can be activated by a "Right Click" that sometimes the pilot misses the switch and accidentally activates the Emergency Landing Gear Handle by unintentionally. Third, Once the Emergency Landing Gear Handle is activated the only way to correct the situation is to Re-Start the Mission!!!

SOLUTION: My strongly suggested correction to this problem is: First, change the activation of the Emergency Landing Gear Handle to a "Mouse Wheel Roll" to turn the Handle Then "Left Click" the Handle to lower it...No "Right Click" at all. Second, fix the Repair Functions to include the Emergency Landing Gear Handle activation...

Thank you!

This is a very good idea! I hope Heatblur reads this.

Remove right mouse option from gear selector

This is really starting to piss me off. Spending 10 minutes starting up the aircraft (mostly waiting for INS alignment) and an accidental right click locks the gear down.

It's very frustrating.

My simple proposal would be:

RMB: Gear up / Handle in

LMB: Gear down / Handle out

MWU: Handle CW

MWD: Handle CCW

Same for the hook handle BTW just to keep it the same.

Heatblur, please change this. It is super annoying. The likelihood of me needing quick access to landing gear emergency operation is vanishingly small. The likelihood of me screwing up my aircraft with this control bound to RMB is 100%.

While this probably should be fixed, I'll give you a better alternative from someone who's been at this for 25 years (with some real world flying experience): You should avoid using the mouse as much as possible. All of these controls you're mentioning should be bound to keyboard keys at worst and your HOTAS somewhere (usually my throttle base) if possible. This way you can't accidentally click the wrong thing. Generally, you should be able to actuate the commonly used items by feel and not have to look down so you can continue to fly the airplane while you manipulate the controls.

Good points, especially for 2D. I just find myself doing way more cockpit clicking than I've ever done before in VR.

sorry to drag this thread back up, but I assume that there has been no fix? (I know I cannot get the "Request Repair" to fix it and I suspecty that me alone has probably used up the entire world's supply of nitrogen bottles in accidently hitting this function
