According to Wags' post on ED FB 15th January:

A new datalink / SA page element was added today to support for SAM threat zones. These are determined before hand and are static indications based on Mission Editor settings. If the unit is hidden it will not appear on the SA display, if it is not hidden, it will display. Just like the real system, this is NOT a dynamic indication based on RWR or any sensors. It simply alerts the pilot of a reported SAM threat that was entered in the mission file before they even took off.

I would assume that is as intended, that your aircraft sensors would still pick up the threat, even if they are hidden on the F10 map, hidden is really only for the map view.

I'm pretty sure that the SA page indications aren't based on any sensors but rather what was loaded into the jet pre-flight.

Same here. I have a mission (too many mods to upload, sorry) where there is a known static SAM (SA2) and an unkown SA11 battery ready for the ambush.

I set the SA11 both Search Radar and traker to 'Unit emmision Off' from mission start and it still appears in SA page before it is commanded any status change via trigger.

*EDIT: Some details, there are 1xE-2D AWACS, other Hornet flight with IRMAVS and a f14 FORCAP.

Guille, that is correct behavior as far as we have been told. If the position is known, and programmed into your mission computer, you will see a threat ring on the SA page. It is totally independent of your RWR.

As Ahmed shared, however, if the position is unknown (previously indicated by the "hidden" property in the mission editor) the unit should not be displayed on the SA page, even after your RWR alerts you per Mr. Wags.

The question is whether this is a bug, or another option is being worked on regarding whether threats are displayed?

Ofcourse, it is clear. I just wanted to add some of my personal experience since this jumped to my atention yesterday. Sorry for the typos and poor choice of words that may have make this look like a complain.
