Zad Fnark Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Hey guys. I'm having issues with the Maverick. I've assigned the TDC movement controls to the hat switch on my Warthog throttle at the front. I also assigned these keys to the keyboard as a backup. The TDC Depress button is assigned to the rounded hat switch at the left of the Warthog stick. For whatever reason, I can't get the effing seeker to slew. It's forever stuck forward, unless it locks itself on something when uncaged. I've downloaded Chuck's updated guide, hoping this would help, but no joy. Am I missing something? I can't slew from the stick or the keyboard. Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.
Moafuleum Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 WHILE slewing, you need to depress the switch. Alternatively, in the special options tab, you can change that behavior
Cyborg71 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Have you ensured the following (others chime in.....no expert here) 1. Maverick selected from stores 2. Cool down timeout expired 3. Selected Maverick display as sensor of interest. 4. A/G selected and master arm on 5. Cage/uncage seeker head

They are selected and I can lock on objects pointing the plane at them. I'll look at the options tab to see what else I can do. Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.

Zad Fnark Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) Is this another display in addition to the seeker head view? Maybe that's it. I normally have the radar running in the right panel. Edited July 24, 2019 by Zad Fnark Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.
Moafuleum Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 You can have the Radar on the right and the Maverick on the left. Put the stores page on the left DDI and press the MAVF Button. The seeker view should appear. Then press sensorselect switch left to make that window active (indicated by the diamond). You should then be able to slew it when it is uncaged.
Zad Fnark Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 Where is sensorselect at? One of the MFD buttons? Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.
dawgie79 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 In Options - Special - F/A-18C you can turn off realistic slew so you won't have to keep the button pressed. Not realistic but makes slewing easier.
Svsmokey Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 "Where is sensor select" You should have it bound to your hotas 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2
Ramsay Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Where is sensorselect at? One of the MFD buttons? It's a 4 way 'castle' switch on the stick (between the pickle button and the trim hat). See page 37 of Chuck's F/A-18C Hornet Guide for more detail. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Zad Fnark Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 I do have the left/right/up/down mapped. That's what's not working. Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.
Ramsay Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I do have the left/right/up/down mapped. That's what's not working. You use the sensor select switch (on the stick) to select the sensor/MFD (diamond in the top right) and use the TDC (on the throttle) to slew the Maverick seeker. If I've understood correctly you've said you can't get the TDC (on the throttle) to slew. IIRC you need to hold TDC depress, while using the TDC slew commands (up, dn, left and right). When the crosshairs are over your desired target, release TDC depress to lock the target Please post a track so we can see what you are/are not doing. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Moafuleum Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I do have the left/right/up/down mapped. That's what's not working. TCS slew control and sensor select switch (aka castle switch) are two different ones. Both are part of the HOTAS and should be bound.
