Hi guys,

 

my mustache still has to grow. So here is the question:

 

Where do i see the distance to the target in TWS?

 

Especially when firing the phoenix I can see the altitude and closure BUT not the distance?:cry:

It is displayed in the data readout line on the TID. The line changes however every 2 seconds or so to also schow other quantities. I think RA stands for the range in nm.

Thanks guys. And I discovered two more questions:

 

How to change between Flare and Chaff?

 

And do the lights work? Turmed on positioning lights but nothing happens.

I'm not sure about this but i think you can't. The RIO is in charge for Chaff. Tell Jester the program and he is going to use it on his own when necessary.

You can have control over chaff as a pilot

You need to have Jester (or your RIO) switch from 'Pilot' to NORM (or manual?)

this can be done with the jester comma rose

 

I also recommend loading up with more chaff than default, because it gets used quicker than flares

 

I use 80C-20F :)

Sorry but could you provide a screenshot, because I dont see any line that makes sense for the distance:(

If you have your TID repeater on your HSD, you will see lines forming a V going away from your bottom center. These lines are broken like - - - - instead of a solid line. Each part-line and space in between represents 20nm. Therefore, if you ask Jester to change radar scan distance, you will see the lines get longer or shorter.

Your RIO can toggle your DLC between Chaff/Flare by means of a switch in the AN/ALE-39.

Use the TID repeater, look at the V-shape lines (you see only the top part here), each dashed line is 20nm, even the missing one. You can have a better reading by asking your RIO to hook up a specific target or WP. In the pic's case, I hooked the WP1, the TID readings are range and ETA to WP.

here you can see the full cone. Each line of its boudaries (even the missing part) is 20nm. Therefore WP1 is ~20nm. The "72" on the left (antenna limits) sits close to 60nm. It's very easy to understand as soon as you get the idea.
