Hi Huligan,

 

1. In a recent update the 109 was made even more realistic. Now you have to re-charge your MK108 before you can fire it. Look for the key binding in your settings. I was surprised too, but it turned out to be a realistic feature, not a bug :)

 

2. I'm not sure what you mean. The F10 map does work. If you mean the F10 radio menu, press the radio button, and select the F10 menu. It's not there in every mission, only some. If you're not leading the whole squadron it won't be available, because you can give orders to your own flight via the normal radio menu.

 

Also, the "remove units" radio item is only available in the first 10 minutes of the missions, make sure you select it right at the beginning. Before you do that, I suggest you turn off wake turbulence in your settings. With that turned off you can get decent FPS even with all the AI units present.

And last question -How to enable full swastika(Hakenkreuz) on bf109 ??? All Liveries from Campaign have a full swastika!But in game it not able

To be able to fly with historical liveries, I had to completely delete the entire folder

...\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\Bf 109 K-4 Jagdflieger Campaign\Liveries\

This campaign comes with censored skins, to make sure it follows the regulations. If you'd like to use a different one, you can change them in the mission editor.

Just click on the unit you'd like to change, and then in the 2nd tab on the right side you can select any skins. Or open the "rearm-refuel" tab after spawning and select a skin there.

 

No, there is no message after you select the "remove units" option.

Hello,

 

Just purchased the Campaign and I saw that it includes several Liveries ... do I have to install them on my /Saved Games/DCS/liveries folder .. or do they work where they currently are (/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Mod/Campaigns etc) ?

 

Sorry if it is a silly question, but I checked all 4 threads on this SubForum and didnt found instructions about this :(

Hi Rudel!

 

That's a good question, I always wondered, because I don't have any of my campaigns "bought & installed" the normal way. I suppose the installer should put them where they are, I doubt you'll have to move anything manually. In the first mission, check if you are flying "Red 7" with spiral spinner and yellow nose underside. If you are, then it's working :)

 

Also, if you experience low FPS when there are lots of aircraft around, turn off "wake turbulence" in your settings, so far it has helped everyone. Oh, and always read the briefings! :D

Thanks for the advice, just tried the start of the 1st Mission and the bird looks just like you say:

 

 

Didnt try to fly the Campaign yet, as I'm very rusty on the Bf109 so I intend to redo the training first and after that I will start your Campaign, I just love what you did with Blue nosed bastards, so didnt hesitate to add this one to the basket during this Sale, as I'm sure that the Campaign story and immersion will be a real treat :)

Hi .. didnt do anything special .. I've taken a look at the DDS files that the installer put on my disk and they do have the correct swastikas ... maybe the installer recognizes that I'm outside the European Union?

there is a file with the correct swastika

Bf-109.dds

And I just rename it file to

Bf-109K-4_DIF.dds

in each folder with liveries

...now I have correct swastikas on all fb109 in this Campaign :D

It's funny, because originally I submitted the campaign with full swastikas, then they asked me to censor them. So now I'm a bit lost: either they put the old skinpack in the installer package, or you have PorcoRosso's uncensored skin installed, and it overwrites what comes with the campaign. :huh:

Does anyone has problem with fps in 2 mission? While I'm closing to the bombers my fps go down to 3-6! It is unplayable... First mission OK - still 60 fps.

 

I play VR HP Reverb (SS 100%). i58600k@4,7GHz, 1080ti.

 

Tried turn wake turb off but it didn't help.

 

I'm still on 2.5.5

2.5.6 completely destroyed frame rates when lots of units are present. Air or ground, doesn't matter. It's been reported, and ED is working on it. I hope they'll come up with something soon.

Ah sorry! That’s interesting. I got 20 fps with a 1070 and a rift. And you say wake turbulence is off too? Try removing half the units using the f10 menu after spawning. The next update will contain further tweaks: third of the bombers will hold their fire to improve performance.

 

Try playing with your shadow and anti aliasing settings, those make a big difference with such massive formations.

Same issues here with performance on 2.5.6. Kind of regretting waiting to fly it until now, as I really like the new Shark cockpit, and the lighting with 2.5.6, but just itching to fly this campaign primarily.

 

I went ahead and rolled back to 2.5.5, and just as Reflected mentioned, the performance difference is ridiculous. I still had some pretty extreme slowdown once the B17s started shooting on MSN4 (8700k, 1080ti, and Valve Index), but it was actually playable for the most part. I used the F10 unit reduction as well for a good comparison with my attempt to fly it with 2.5.6. I was able to make a couple of frontal attacks, and get one kill.

 

There is a noticeable difference in how the game engine looks (probably due to lighting) between 2.5.5 and 2.5.6. Hopefully the performance drop with 2.5.6 isn't a permanent thing that forces us to wait for a computer 2 generations from now to enjoy this campaign with the latest version.
