Namenlos Ein Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 What? Is there a story to this picture? Chadian Mi-24 helicopter shot down by rebels, Abeche, Chad, June 2008 (David Axe). The Su-25s even penetrated Sudanese airspace several times this summer while pursuing Sudanese militiamen. The latter managed to shoot down one of the Mi-35s last year, injuring its two Ukrainian crew. The wounded contractors reportedly hitched a ride back to their base on a military aircraft belonging to the EU peacekeeping force stationed in eastern Chad.In June, a Chadian Mi-35 attack chopper flown by a Ukrainian crew was shot down near Abeche. (I bribed my way to the crash site, pictured, for the price of one pack of cigarettes.)http://www.warisboring.com/?p=1384 http://www.worldpoliticsreview.com/articles/4105/war-is-boring-mercenary-air-forces-underpin-afghanistan-africa-operations That's all I know.

mvsgas Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Iraqi airmen demonstrate operational capabilities in Hellfire exercise An Iraqi air force AC-208 Cessna Caravan aircrew launches a Hellfire missile Nov. 8, 2010, at a target on the Aziziyah Training Range, south of Baghdad, . The Iraqi airmen scored a direct hit, destroying the target in their second-ever launch of a Hellfire missile. Iraqi airmen have trained continuously for the Hellfire mission, mastering the weapons load, target attack and airmanship skills necessary to maintain proficiency since completing their first Hellfire launch in 2009, also resulting in a direct hit of a training target.
