schroedi Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I would say the ship is about 100m long. Missle is 9,7m and the ship has about 10 times the lengh of the missle.
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Looks more like 1 missile with a split wake ... Nope that is the first one, the second follows a split second later, along the axis of the ship as it enters the stern. In fact it looks like the first passed through the other side unscathed. The Second causes the explosion. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Weta43 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 So it is ! Interesting that the first one strikes just above the waterline (as I understood Moskit was designed to to), but second one is diving and enters from above the stern. Don't think the first one is 'unscathed' as it passes through though - seems to eject quite a lot of debris on the near side.. Cheers.
Namenlos Ein Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 damn what type of ship is that? A decommissioned barracks ship. More photos: http://twower.livejournal.com/640158.html An old repair ship PМ-140 (ПМ-140) after number of Moskit and Vulkan anti-ship missiles hits.
mvsgas Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 click on image to enlarge US Air Force airmen push down on the wing of a U-2 Dragon Lady from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale AFB, California, after its pilot landed at RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, on 9 June 2015. The recovery crew is pushing the wing down in order to put attach the orange pogo, or outrigger wheels, underneath the wingtip. The pogos are installed so the aircraft can be taxied without the wings tilting to one side or the other. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
