Could you provide some numbers? That's what I was able to find about the APG-77:

Jane's:

And Jane's again:

What about the APG-63(V)3?

From Aviation week magazine:

"Ranges of the new lines of AESA radars are classified. But they are estimated at about 90 mi. for the smallest (aimed at the F-16 radar-upgrade market). The F/A-18E/F and F-35 (with radar ranges of 100 mi.) are followed by the F-22 (110-115-mi.). The largest is carried by the upgraded F-15Cs and Es (125 mi.). By comparison, the range for a mechanically scanned, F-15C radar is 56 mi. according to Russian air force intelligence. U.S. aerospace officials agree that an AESA radar "at least doubles" the range over standard military radars.

When coupled with the electronic techniques generator in an aircraft, the radar can project jamming, false targets and other false information into enemy sensors. Ranges for electronic attack equal the AESA radar plus that of the enemy radar. That could allow electronic attack at ranges of 150 mi. or more. The ability to pick out small targets at a long distance also lets AESA-equipped aircraft find and attack cruise missiles, stealth aircraft and small UAVs."

If by that you mean 'I like how you said nothing at all', I agree. ;)

That's a rather cursory analysis. :noexpression:

The media is getting wind of the Bulgarian interest in F-16AM's from PoAF:

Oh my god, that is terrifying. Definitely the best vid of GAU-8 strafing I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing that Griffin.

Meh... that was poor marksmanship... cr@p pilot. I can do a far better job in DCS A-10C :)

In terms of avionics and capabilities, which C/D block the AM/BM versions correspond to? 50, 52 or earlier?

They are similar *BUT NOT EQUAL* To block 50 (Misses some things but adds others). Uses APG-66V2A radar, capable of detecting targets at 90km looking up and 60km looking down (of same RCS as F-16). Can track 10 targets, engage 6 (later M-tape required) using AMRAAM (any version). They are capable of datalink, buddy launch, Litening pods and helmet mounted sights.

It uses same radar modes as APG-68V5 (although it can be programed with new modes at anyone time). It uses same modular mission computer MMC as all exported F-16C's.

The engine is the F-100PW220E.

Current armament consists, of JDAM's, LGB-12 enhanced paveway (laser+GPS), AIM-9Li, AIM-120B/C, AGM-65(B/D/G), but are already compatible with AIM-9X, IRIS-T, JSOW and others.

They are aprox. 3000 hours in the airframe so 5000h's are remaining.

Some capabilities may differ after sales due to export restrictions and Bulgarian requirements.

If my eyes did not deceive me, the speed with which the Skyhawk pilot initiated ejection is mind boggling.

This is definitely a re-post, but can you blame me? Just about as good as a carrier trap gets.
