the similarity is not innocent. It is intended to replace Chinese copies of Mig-21UB, the JJ-7 and uses same engine and very similar rear airframe.

I guess its a real cheapo alternative.

my god this su27 model is incredible

At his level of expertise, he should build a real airplane, this model reproduces every panel on the real jet with all the bolts and rivets. (the cockpit shapes is not correct; I guess due to inaccurate drawings)

What's the point with your last pic, isn't that a screenshot from FC2?

Did you try to show difference between sea in first pic and the one in LOFC?!

REmember that LOFC theater is Black Sea region therefore the color difference.

That is incredible. It's got freakin' wheel brakes as well!

scale landing gear with 100% functionality and also an air-brake; it is not crazy This is madness! before doing the fiver glass model he did a scale model with wood, then he covered with aluminum panels (real paneling) with all the bolts in place then he used this scale model to build the molds for the fiver-glass model, it also have carbon-fiver reinforcements. Note that jet model airplanes have a computer that controls the engines.

Everytime this guys fly this models they have to go over checklists to see that all the systems work correctly, after the turn the jet engines on they go over another preflight checklist.... seroiusly this guys need to build something on scale 1:1

not to bask to heavily on this RC model, but... it's for sale!

Maybe a little more practice for the hardcore Flanker pilot. (joking)

more seriously though, if you look into how much work this man put into this plane (some four years) it is quite astounding. Anyways, all I have to add :)

Just some small news: the USMC is now testing lockheeds latest C-130J Harvest Hawk. I Dont know much about it other than it carries the AGM114 Hellfire agm, a 30mm cannon, and is capable of aerial refueling other aircraft in the same mission. Its a beast.

:shocking: that sound more like some toy a boy would play with...

Most of the aircraft in this section could have been great success, but appeared too late and were immediately obsolescent, or conversely were initially successful but past their sell-by date when most needed.

Aircraft with 'bad timing'

Well, it's interesting to see and read about it.

My favorite is Antonov KT Flying Tank from 1942

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – The Harvest HAWK equipped KC-130J Hercules completed Phase One testing here on April 10 and departed for the West Coast for required maintenance and to continue testing on NAVAIR’s ranges at China Lake, Calif.

Harvest HAWK is a modular roll-on, roll-off weapons system for the KC-130J consisting of a Fire Control Console in the aircraft’s cargo compartment, the Target Sight Sensor (TSS) mounted in the left under wing fuel tank and a launcher for four Hellfire missiles mounted on the left hand refueling pylon. NAVAIR is working a complimentary effort to test and deploy the Standoff Precision Guided Munition (SOPGM) as a stand alone capability for Harvest HAWK. The 30 mm cannon, which will be mounted in the left side troop door, has been deferred to a later block upgrade.

The Test Team, composed of personnel from Air Test and Evaluation Squadrons 20 (VX 20) and 23 (VX-23), Operational Test Squadron 1 (VX-1), Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352 (VMGR-352), Lockheed Martin, and engineers from the Joint Attack Munitions Systems (JAMS) project office, NAVAIR AIR-5.1 Integrated Systems Evaluation, Experimentation, and Test (ISEET) department, and NAVAIR AIR 4.6 Human Systems department, conducted the tests during this phase of Harvest HAWK testing. The Harvest HAWK equipped KC-130J from VMGR-352, “The Raiders” from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., arrived here on Mar. 17. The first Harvest HAWK equipped KC-130J is scheduled to deploy by summer 2010 equipped with the TSS, Hellfire and SOPGM.
