mvsgas Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) Looks like the pilot banged his head on the HUD. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it was not the only one that day, so that excludes malfunction. I have no info on this, I'm assuming ( you know what happens when you assume) I think is pilot error, you can see how fast he was going. Oshkosh is very busy and it get very crazy out there. Maybe he was overwhelmed. I help set up before (98 and 99) and it get hectic. So many aircraft in the airspace. Every year, there are several crashes. combatace Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Looked to me like he ripped the rudder off with such a steep takeoff angel. Oh dear. No, there was problem in the circuits due to moisture and the computer though that plane was landing whereas it was taking off and as most off the controls of B-2 are managed by computer pilot lost control. Stinks like a journalist, that sentence, but moisture it was :) F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close

The ground crew who cleaned the aircraft forgot to tape up the pitot static ports before they soaked the plane. 3 billion dollar aircraft still have to rely on a vacuum type system for airspeed and altitude. Could have happened to any aircraft with a pitot system. aaron886 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 It's all about the man inside the machine. (And really, more accurately, it's all about the force on force tactics... not just the qualities of the individual aircraft OR pilots.)

mikoyan Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 IRC we had Portugese Vipers doing the same to Spanish EFAs few years ago, Pilotasso correct me if I'm wrong! What the turks said was that their f-16a are a dangerous opponent to the eurofighter since it is the lightest of the f-16 versions and that the eurofighter pilots are trained to putting lots of emphasis on beyond visual range combat.
