fenderplayer946 Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 +1 It's sometimes hard to work out what is active/which setting is the current setting, admittedly this is more of an on the fly thing...
captain_dalan Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 To add a bit of praise on a complaining thread, thanks for that search altitude at range feature for Jester, it made my life much easier. A virtually essential feature for us that don't have a human RIO. Both online and offline. Looking forward to the TWS auto. Modules: FC3, Mirage 2000C, Harrier AV-8B NA, F-5, AJS-37 Viggen, F-14B, F-14A, Combined Arms, F/A-18C, F-16C, MiG-19P, F-86, MiG-15, FW-190A, Spitfire Mk IX, UH-1 Huey, Su-25, P-51PD, Caucasus map, Nevada map, Persian Gulf map, Marianas map, Syria Map, Super Carrier, Sinai map, Mosquito, P-51, AH-64 Apache, F4U Corsair

A virtually essential feature for us that don't have a human RIO. Both online and offline. Looking forward to the TWS auto. I don't think anyone is really complaining on this thread. It is more of a wishful thinking type of stance. We all know that these things take time, we all know that when ED changes something in DCS World parameters, then HB have to play catch up and alter their own parameters. We all know that this fire fighting is what is taking up much of their time. Then this is compounded by everyone having their own wishlist of features that is often unique to themselves and in very different parts of the flight regime. For instance you want TWS Auto as you value the combat. I value basic flight handling in VR, so I want to see external sound getting louder when the canopy is raised and a pilot body in cockpit. We all see our pet mods as important and easily achievable - I mean how hard can it be to install a pilot body and tweak open cockpit external sounds when other modules already do it? It is actually very difficult. So HB is in a difficult position, you cannot please everyone when everyone flies the Cat for different reasons. I guess we just have to stay patient and try not to vocalist our disappointment upon reading the latest changelog and finding our pet feature still has not been addressed. HB are walking a proverbial tightrope and have made it halfway across. Other third parties have already fallen off and gone splat. Let's not be the wind that pulls them in different directions. :) System spec: i9 9900K, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra motherboard, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair M.2 NVMe 1Tb Boot SSD. Black Assassin Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I realize there's nothing explicitly about (VR) performance in the changelog, but I swear something's changed to make it run a wee bit smoother in VR. is HB experimenting on the population with 'silent' fixes? If so, thanks. Every extra frame counts in VR F-14. i9-9900KF @ 3.6ghz ; 32gb RAM @ 3600mhz; Gigabyte RTX 2080 8gb ; TMWarthog ; TM rudder ; HTC Vive
Mnemonic Posted October 5, 2019 Author Posted October 5, 2019 VR runs a bit smoother overall in DCS with latest patch, it's ED's covert ops :)
Mnemonic Posted October 5, 2019 Author Posted October 5, 2019 ...we all know that when ED changes something in DCS World parameters, then HB have to play catch up and alter their own parameters... Still it doesn't affect 3D modeling aspect
Airhunter Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The EIG will get swapped when the A comes, we said that many times. Actually, I heard/read this for the first time. Considering the A is one of the last items on your list, what is the reasoning behind such a long wait for a proper EIG? Didn't you guys say before you want to fully flesh out and "finish" the B model first before you move on to the A?
IronMike Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Actually, I heard/read this for the first time. Didn't you guys say before you want to fully flesh out and "finish" the B model first before you move on to the A? In general yes, but some things are better done for us in one sweep, for example changing the cockpit for the A. most things will stay the same, but apart from the EIG, the A will have the majority of things changed. That’s why doing both in one go will save us time, opposite of doing it twice, once for the B, and then having to change it back again for the A. Does that make sense? The fleshing out the B is what is happening now anyway, minus the EIG and brushing up the small visual bugs for above mentioned reason. Both A and EIG is being worked on already btw, only not with sole focus yet. It would be a real shame not to be able to enjoy those shrieking engines when taxying. The canopy closing and the external sounds getting progressively blocked out when it closes and seals has a huge effect on immersion in VR. Far more so than you would expect.. It ramps up the feeling of closed cockpit confinement that you strived for when putting the scratches / fogging / raindrops on the canopy plexiglass. Oh and tell Jester to keep his hands off the canopy switch during cold starts. :) I prefer the idea of climbing out rather than ejecting through the canopy if we have an engine catch fire. Jester closing the canopy unasked is really annoying. The poor canopy rarely gets the chance to lock before its heading back up again. This really breaks immersion. It may be part of a real life checklist, but it would be nice for the crew to instigate it at their leisure. In my case, at the runway hold short line. Looking forward to the A model. Great work. River Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 And please please please fix the lean out of the canopy glass bug for TrackIR. I still can stick my head through the closed canopy.
IronMike Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 (edited) All points noted. As for the EIG, since we feel that it is important to you guys, we will try and release it ahead this year, as mentioned in the dev update. Please don’t crucify us if it takes a bit longer though, it’s a bit more work like that afterall, but we’ll give our best as always. We hope we can show you with this how much your opinion matters to us and that we are always willing to check our internal road map against your wishes if at all possible. Thank you all for your continued patience with us. Kaos Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 IronMike, thanks for your sympathetic ear. I'm sure the community appreciates the fact that you and the team are listening to their concerns, I believe the cat to be an amazing module and my favourite so thanks for trying to make it even better!
