beppe_goodoldrebel Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I'm no FM expert but I feel speedbrake is almost useless regarding reducing airspeed. Is this as it should be or something WIP?
MasterZelgadis Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 She doesn't like to slow down like the A-10, but I noticed some significant decrease in airspeed with the speedbrakes out. "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler." http://www.space-view.net

VampireNZ Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Interesting, I actually thought the speedbrake performance was pretty good. I can approach the tanker etc at a speed I would consider too fast in the Tomcat to stop and just wack open the SB and it slows right down and you easily match speed. Vampire
beppe_goodoldrebel Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 This is the track. I dont think speedbrake doesn't work , is just about it take a lot of time to "stop" the aircraft and if you add just a little power (around 20%) basically you mantain airspeed.SPEEDBRAKE.zip
bbrz Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Speedbrakes can't do magic and they don't 'stop' an aircraft. Furthermore, the higher the speed, the more effective are the speedbrakes. E.g. below 200kts they will have very little 'stopping power' i7-7700K 4.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 1070
